I wonder what the percentage of illegals is in regards to paying income tax. I would guess close to zero to none.

Would you want it to be higher? Wouldn't it be kinda weird if "illegals" paid 10% of all income taxes?

Hopefully it is close to zero considering they work minimum wage jobs and make up less than 7% of the population

I'm going to disagree with this statement. As a whole, if you compare hispanics, whites, and blacks of the bottom 80%. I.e. I am throwing out the top 20% of income earners. In America in the bottom 80%, hispanics far and away have the best credit. I see hundreds of credit reports a week. There are no if, ands, or buts. Hispanics, as group, pay cash for more, live a lot more within thier means, and have much better credit scores than whites and blacks. Is this a generalization, yes. Thus it is not the case all the time. But if you take the top 20% of income earners out of the equation and you want to generalize on what race has the best credit, what race is most responsible with their bills, what race would I want to give a loan to... no doubt a hispanic over any other race... illegal or lega, it makes no difference.

Furthermore, while it is also correct that most illegals will have very modest living arrangements, it is probably tied to their low income and their inability to get credit. Those who are paid better probably live comparably to the Americans in the lower 50% income bracket.

Of course illegals pay Income tax, as well as SS and Medicare. It's taken out of their checks. The difference is, many of them can't get a refund because those that don't file taxes have no way to get a refund. Which ones don't pay taxes? Maids, babysitters, and lawnmen... typically the kind of folks the top 10% would absolutely say they want their tax dollars suppporting as opposed to all the legal freeloaders taking advantage of the system with all these social programs.

I wonder what the percentage of illegals is in regards to paying income tax. I would guess close to zero to none.

I did not know one can get credit without SSN. Thus I did not assume that they have bad credit, rather I assumed that they can't apply for it unless they stole someone's identity.

They absolutely can get credit with a false SS#, and then when it comes to a mortgage I've seen illegals get mortgages with false SS#'s and I've seen lenders do loans for illegals using simply an ITIN#. When the illegal provides that ITIN# to a lender, the illegal DOES have a credit report and scores. In fact just last week I saw one with 780 mid score. She had both an ITIN# and a false SS#. I had to call Equifax and tell them that the ITIN# and the false SS# was one and the same person. No problem.... and the 15+ tradelines were all her tradelines as well. Very good borrower. High limits, low balances, never a single late payment. She cleans houses and has 100K+ of revolving credit and got a $200k home loan.
