I don't understand the objection to someone being against homosexuality. It's as valid a choice to dislike it as it is to like it. Nothing wrong with disliking it because it's icky; some of you like it because it makes you feel good to be so "open-minded" that your brains could fall out. Not everyone is like you anymore than everyone is like Kip.

So, your liberalism, to be consistent, should be "open-minded" enough to allow for people who aren't pro-gay as it is about people who are gay or pro-gay. If it's not, you're not as "open-minded" as you think you are.

I think some are so into gays because they like variety.

People get hung up too much on correctness. In a country that is supposed to be tolerant and where privacy is king, we worry too much about what other people think. However, it seems everybody needs a cause to make their lives complete. Some folks strap bombs on themselves, and stand in the market square to get their point across. Others get on the internet and rant against homosexuals.

Or, rant pro-homosexuals. I see ranting both ways.

So you're just fine with the western world hating muslims and lobbying against them? My liberalism should be tolerant of anti-gay people? When have I ever said that, and since when are you the arbiter of all things that liberals should and should not believe in? I do have some liberal ideals, but most are not.

I'm fine with freedom of speech. I live in the real world where people are allowed to disagree and to even be inarticulate about why they feel the way they do. I don't suck my thumb, kick and holler when someone disagrees with me. I'm a grown-up.

I agree, but they have a small, very vocal contingent that insists on being identified by what they do in bed, and, media being what it is, they have become the model for all gays.

Tolerance is not really the goal, acceptance is. That was such a poor choice of words by the civil rights movement.

You are aware that 'fighting words' are not protected by the first amendment...

That's laughable that you don't suck your thumb, kick and holler when someone disagrees with you. Just look at your postings in any thread that is remotely critical of muslims.

According to the pro ** crowd on here, anyone that finds ** sexuality vulgar and disgusting is a closet **.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

No, I just said that those who hold those beliefs are bigots. I'll ask for the fourth time now Kip, can you please explain why you dislike homosexuals without using the words "disgusting", "Gross", or citing a religious text. You can't, which makes your hatred irrational. You are a married man, and despite the innuendo about a braggart who talks too much of sexual exploits, I don't think you are gay.

Fighting words are not protected in certain contexts. On a message board, they are.

What you find laughable, I find ironic for you to find laughable.
