I personally grew up thinking that Ernie was Berts nephew. I would be devastated if they turned out to be gay out of a sudden. Not because I am homophobic but just because they always seemed to be related.

People like Danno seem to think that homosexuality is some sort of mental defect. As such, they have this phobia that every gay guy wants to have sex with them, as if they are not human and don't have their own set of standards and morals. That is what I find most demeaning about homophobia.
