Hello everyone,

I'm quite worried about my N-400 status. I have done my biometrics on July 22 and have received my yellow letter. However, my online status has not changed. It still says: "on July 8, we mailed fingerprint letter...." I remain on the Initial Review phase. On the other hand, my sister, who has the same receipt date as me and in fact did her fingerprints 1 week after me, has already had TWO online status updates. Yesterday, her online status says they've sent an interview letter.

should I be worried? Does it happen that the online status does not change yet people receive their interview letters anyway? Please advise... Thanks.

Online status is a good indicator of nothing. Mine remained at the Biometrics letter stage until I had my interview. I wouldn't worry at all.

Have you looked at the filers thread for which ever month you filed in to see other's timelines?

I was told by a Level 2 officer that Yellow letters are not normally reflected online. Also you might not get an "in line for interview update". I did not, I got an "interview notice mailed" one.

As far as the time between the FP and Interview letter, check out my signature...

I become a US citizen yesterday and my status still saying that i am scheduled for interview :P. i think their system is not updated periodically or officers does not update the case.

I'm in the same situation. I was issued fingerprint notice on the exact same date as yours, received the yellow letter two days after getting my fingerprint notice in the mail. I did my fingerprint on the scheduled day. My online status still says fingerprint notice sent. I saw a lot of posters here being placed in line for interview 2 days after fingerprint.

I called customer service a few times, however, I got a different answer each time. Really don't know what to believe anymore.

Alas, my status has finally changed to "Waiting in line for interview" yesterday. I got a text, too! I was able to talk to USCIS after starting this topic and was told that the status typically updates when you get an interview schedule. I'm still quite behind, but glad that things are moving along.

@nowitswaittime: Hope yours updates soon. If you're wondering if your biometrics is causing the delay (perhaps they were not readable or whatnot), you can call FBI at 3046255590229. I did and was told that mine were readable and the results were sent to USCIS on the same day that I took my biometrics.

Thanks for everyone's responses.

Good for you. I hope I get my update soon.

I had already called the FBI and was told that my biometrics was sent back on the very same day. I assumed that it was fine.

What really upsets me is that every time I called USCIS I was told something completely different. If there is a delay, just say so and explain. I don't understand why can't they just tell people what it says on the screen after you provide your receipt number. I don't mind the wait but thinking about the possibility of a mistake being made just keeps me up at night.
