hi anyone here goes for there interview at USembassy manila.is it ok if i will show them my fiance's 2010 federal tax.he dont want to show the 2009 and 2008 coz the figure is not good.but he has the money in the bank,house and car.would it be enough to show that he can support me.pls i need some answer vj familyy.

The CO will not deny because of low income in the past. What is needed is income in 2011 that meets the requirement.

He cannot use his personal car as an asset. It must be a second car that can be used. Also to use a house you must be presenting a recent valuation done by a licensed appraiser.

He needs to submit a form I-134 and include all necessary documents to support the income claim.

The U.S. Embassy Manila will send you a letter which tells you that you are eligible to schedule an interview. Here is what the letter says about the evidence of support:

m. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134.

I would suggest submitting several recent paycheck stubs because the consular officer will be looking at the petitioner's current sustained income.

There is no reason to submit proof of assets if the petitioner's income is above 125% of the poverty level for his household size.
