My medical at medisys in Montreal was 215$ i think in 2009 with no shots.

I believe it's $210 but I would have to look at the email I got from them again to be sure... Does anyone know if you have to do a pee test? I can't for the life of me pee on command .... LOL

lol no pee test, blood test, xray, doctor check up, and they had checked my eyes with one of thos eye charts.

The guy i got as my dr was very down to the point, no chit-chat at all. Do the quick exam and get me out the door.

It's a room with separate stalls. Like a public bathroom kind of set up. You don't have to change in front of people. :)

For the x-ray, you remove your shirt and bra. You're allowed to keep your pants on and you get a little gown to wear over them.

OOh ok that's like what they do here at the hospital... Do they make you come out with the gown on and sit with people? Does anyone other than the xray tech see you in the gown..

Nope. The x-ray room is attached to the room you change in so nobody else but the x-ray techs in there see you with the gown on (over your pants).

There aren't people walking around in gowns. It's all very private. The only people who will see you in a gown are the vet techs and the doctor that does the exam.

The medical was honestly the part I was afraid of the most. I'm painfully shy and self conscious and the idea of a medical exam was a nightmare to me, but honestly, it's not bad at all. Lots of privacy.

That is exactly what I am afraid of the most too! Thank you for clearing this up for me... I feel better when I know what to expect.. I'm kind of a control freak in that way... lol

I am too. I like to know every detail of exactly what's going to happen in situations so I can prepare. Drives my fiance absolutely nuts and I get told to relax a lot.

But yeah, the most uncomfortable part for me was when the doctor lifted my gown to feel my abdomen. But that was about five seconds. You'll honestly spend most of the time in the waiting room.

Where and when are you getting your medical done? I had mine done in Toronto and it was easy peasy. The nurses/doctors/x-ray technician were very polite and efficient and fast... It was over before I knew it! As long as you have no serious communicable diseases like tuberculosis and you have records of your vaccines you'll be fine  They won't care that you're overweight especially since you don't even have any complications associated with it. You won't be considered a charge in the US so you should have no trouble passing your exam.

It's a lot easier than it sounds, I promise! Good luck and I'm sending you good vibes.

No pee test in Canada? Hmm maybe mine was 'cause it was so long ago when different tests were done (2009) or just a different country thing. Ah well :P

I also testify that weight loss isn't an issue. I will say he actually WROTE obese on my medical in the "other notes" section (which totally pissed me off) but the category he wrote was wrong (you know obese, morbidly obese or whatever) because they had my height wrong which jumped me up another level. Wouldn't listen when I said I couldn't possibly have shrunk 2cm's in the last few months and that they were wrong :S

2009 medical I had blood test only, no pee testing. Must be a country thing.
