2008 Recovery Rabate Credit

My wife she recently moved to US and got her new social security number, for last four years we used to file Married Filing Jointly using ITIN number of her. For 2008 tax year we didn't get any rebate credit because use of ITIN in our return. My question is now that we have her newly assigned social security number, can we go back and Amend our 2008 tax return for ITIN with Social Security Number to claim that $1200 credit.\

Has any one gone similar experience or know the procedure, any help from any one will be much appreciated.

File a Form 1040X and do it before next April for a 2008 return. My husband got the 2008 credit even though he did not have a greencard at the time of filing. He did have a SSN and we filed jointly.
