Arg.. FYI, I called my congressman's office and had them do an inquiry today. The response was:

Reallllllly?? 30-45 days? Thanks a ton.. that's helpful.

Hoping in the next few days. Arg.

I got the same response from my senator too... I really hope it means its with someone and that we dont have to wait too much longer

I'm really hoping for the best for all of us here. 226 days for me already. I hope I don't reach past the 8th month mark.

208 days and counting...and the september approvals are intensifying. Is that normal? Or I'm just depressed to feel like our file is lost somewhere.

Hanging in there, but it's getting harder and my heart breaks everyday to see how my wife is struggling with all this while i'm trying to play it cool so that she can find some stength in me to bear all this madness.

They transferred our case to my local office

for additional processing on March 8.

I have no idea how long this step usually takes

Hi, have you guys tried calling USCIS? We called because their website was recently updated - 5 months processing time now, instead of August 2. They told us they were working on September 10, so you guys might be able to put in a service request or something.

It's interesting that we're going to hear something new from them. We'll try to call later. :-)

I just looked at the USCIS website and the processing time I-130 Petition for Alien Relative U.S. citizen filing for a spouse, parent, or child under 21 is saying 5 Months again. I would call and ask for a service request.

Just submitted our service request .... When I told the agent that I want 1 because we were beyond the processing time of 5 months she said that it didn't sound right and she had to check it. She checked and apologized ...... lol... God willing we will hear something in the next 15 days ....

The lady told me I should hear something within 15 days and she gave me a referal number..

We'll see how that goes..

For the service request, are they looking at a specific date it has to be after or are they going after the 5 months mark? This was updated recently and I think there is some confusion so fi you could relate what your experience was, it would be very beneficial in clearing it up.
