HELP! Gathering documents for interview

Hey all. Our fiancee petition was approved on July 5th, notice date of July 5th (2011). We are both anxiously waiting for our interview onto her embassy in Brazil. This wait is driving us crazy. It's driving her more crazy than it is me, because she's READY to go. I can't blame her. Anyway, I plan to fly to Brazil with her to attend the interview.

Since I'm doing this, and I can print chat history/emails/etc. easier than she can.. I'm going to print our additional photos of us together, from the second stay together in her country. I'm at the stage of gathering everything that's needed. I have about 30 pay stubs from about 2008 to now. Since my father is my employer, he's working on producing a letter of employment, with my position, salary, and all that other stuff. I have a few questions... let's see if I can keep from being confusing.

I have my 2010 tax return papers. What forms should I take to the interview for her? Is it w2's only, or more? I also have my 2009 papers. I have the 2008 somewhere too, I just have to figure out where I put it lol. Is 2009 and 2010 enough?

Also, I'm pretty sure I am okay alone with the affidavit of support. More recently, in 2011 I got put on salary pay. I make a fixed amount of money every week. However, in 2010 and previous years... I would have time off from work without collecting unemployment. Which is probably stupid but I still live at home and I could afford to just "not work" and not get pay. Economy is tough and sometimes I think it just helps my dad to not get paid. So what I'm saying is, my annual income for 2010 might not quite reach the 125% above poverty level, on the tax returns. In 2011, it definitely will. Can somebody give me an updated national poverty level number?

I originally, beacuse my father is willing, was going to have him co-sponsor, either way. To be safe. Is this okay?

I want to make sure I do it all right, with what I have. I don't want to be the cause for a delay at the interview, or god forbid, a denial, over something simple. My pay stubs for the last several months show my salary pay for 40 hours... Can they consider that? Hell, I know that some people don't even have this stuff looked at, surprisingly. Anyway, any input is greatly appreciated.

Also, if I am to go the "tax transcript" route... Can anyone be specific on how to order/order the right form that is sufficient? And if I want to order transcrips from 2008, 2009, 2010... would they be ordered seperately?

Thanks so much for any advice.

Matt

All I can answer is the tax transcript request..Its easy and all automated. You request them 1 at a time during the one phone call and you get them in about 1-2 weeks. I was here on VJ reading saw the number in a post, called and a week and a half later, I thought I was in trouble with the government and when I opened up the scary letter from the IRS a sigh of releif. Just the transcripts I ordered..CALL THIS NUMBER TO ORDER IRS TAX TRANSCRIPTS >> 800-908-9946

Good luck with the rest of the stuff. I know someone will answer your questions soon.

you can order your tax transcript from the link (IRS site) below for free. i think once you put in your ssn and all the other information needed, you will have the option to chose which years you want.

http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=232168,00.html

that is the only thing i can help you with.

Okay, to be clear.... My fiancee reposted this for me because I wanted help. Well, I forgot what all I posted in this thread before. Here's what I have...

I have 2008, 2009, and 2010 tax transcripts already. I see on the I-864 Poverty guidelines that 18,387 is 125% above poverty level, for 2 people. For 2009 and 2010 my tax transcripts show a GROSS income of 19,300 (roughly for both) For 2008 I am below that... a little over 16,000.

Anyway, she'll be living here with me, where I live with my mother and father still. Is this fine?

Also, I have pay stubs... Pay stubs from 2008 until now.

I have a letter from my bank that states things about when my account was started/previous loans/current loan.

I'll have a letter from employer (who is my father)

I'm going to print all the convo history from msn, skype, facebook.... I'm taking it to her, for the interview...

Any more help greatly appreciated....

One last question... My father has agreed before and still, that he would co/joint sponsor.... Even if I meet the mark of 125% above... could I still use him for extra security?

Thanks very much

Matt

I would go ahead and have both you and your father fill out the I-134 as co-sponsor. It all depends how they are going to look at it, so its not worth taking chances.

Make sure she has her birth certificate, police reports, passport valid for at least 6 months after entry in the US. Fill out all the forms for the interview. There's a link at the top of the page with the embassy info and another link of other peoples reviews of their interview.

She should read what you filled out on the G325A and I-129F fporms so she knows what you wrote and the information about you cause any of that can come up in the interview. Good luck.

I'm trying to look through the I-134, Affidavit of Support, 2-page form.

I got to the part where it says "Name of spouse and children accompanying or following to join person:

Spouse:

Child

Child

Now, since I put on the form, on the same page but before that part under "This affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person:"

I put Carolina's full name, since she's my fiancee and the person that I'm filling out the form for.... Do I just skip the part I just asked about? or put N/A in each space???

Hmmm I think I'm a little confused, you're applying for a K-1 VISA?

Someone might wish to correct me, but I don't think tax transcripts are required for the K-1.

I just completed my K-1 (Approved yesterday) and I didn't need tax transcripts.

My I-134 package (based on if the salary of the petitioner/co-sponsor meets the requirments) contained

I-134 form

Letter of employment stating salary and duration of employment.

Pay stubs (12 months maximum)

Bank statement showing the date the account was created and the amount that was in the account.

I was told on VJ that was all I needed, and more specifically the tax component is not required for I-134 when applying for K1.

I'm pretty sure they're only interested in the last 12 months for K-1.

As far as the co-sponsor, I would definitely take the safe route and get one, just in case. My fiancee is unemployed, and our primary co-sponsor far exceeded the requirements, but I got two just in case!

If someone would like to correct me, please do, I don't want to give out false information, but based on what I just did in the last month, that was perfectly accepted by the Sydney Consulate.

Good luck!

Not 'required' according to the instructions, however, transcripts provide everything and then some. Total salary earned that year, W2 (if you get one) etc.

For Brazil...you want the transcript. I brought W2's, Employment letter, bank account info etc. They took all that, saw the tax transcript and handed everything but a copy of my Employment letter back to me and said transcript.

So for Sydney that might be ok :D. But for their brazil interview, it is a must.

Fair call, that makes sense, sorry the very last thing I wanted to do was share incorrect information! I thought as much as it could be a country differential, thanks for clarifying.

To the OP, the very very best of luck to you, once I had all of that sent to the consulate I had my visa within just under 4 weeks, so you're so so close!
