When will my case get to the embassy?

Hi,

My case number was assigned on Sept. 14th. Once the case number is assigned how much more processing is left and how long does it take at this point for the NVC to send it to the embassy (for a K-3 visa)?

Once the case number is assigned by nvcur case should be forwarded to the embassy in less then a week.

keep calling nvc and speak to an operator to find that out.

It just depends on how much processing they have to do on your case it can take 1-4 weeks for them to ship your case to the embassy, it took them 4 weeks to ship mine off, best of luck to you

I got a notice that said it would be a week. It has been at least 2 weeks and it has not been sent to the embassy.

My case has been recieved on the 14th of September too....

and I called in today and no news so far.... still sitting there on someones desk.

Thanks everyone for the input. I called the NVC and spoke to an operator and they told me that they don't need to do anything to my husband's case so to just call back everyday until it's been sent off. I hope that it's soon!! My husband and I are all packed and ready to take off for Caracas as soon as it gets to the embassy.

For those of you who haven't been sent to the embassy I hope that your cases get sent there very soon. Juliekins, I'll be keeping a close eye on your timeline. Maybe we'll both be sent off the same day! I just hope that it's done this week!!

but what did you ask them, for them to tell you that nothing needs to be done to your husbands case? did you ask them if he might be on AR?

Nope, I just asked if the case had been sent to the embassy. They told me to try back tomorrow. So then I asked. "Does this mean the case is almost complete and ready to send off?" And she responded that they don't need to do anything to my case and it is just waiting to get sent to the embassy. That I should check back day to day to see when it has been sent off.
