hi. i was wondering what the quickest and most secure way of sending mail to the US was?? the reason i ask is because i sent my fiance some stuff in the mail 3 weeks ago by airsure which should of taken 6 days to get there and it hasnt arrived yet. when checking 'track and trace' it just says it is overseas and i cant report it lost until 25 days have passed. i am ready to send her all my stuff to start off our I-129F process but im now worried about sending it through the royal mail as i dont know what happened to the last mail i sent. any advice would be very welcome :)

Use a service. Fedex or UPS or something.

My cousin sends me cards from royal mail quite often and they get here at very random times, only a few times has nothing arrived but if your sending important documents etc I would use a more trusted service.

If you sent it using airsure then you can use the tracking number provided by the royal mail to track the package on the USPS website once it has reached the US. Hope that helps. I've found the delivery times to vary massively, some packages arrive in a little over a week and others take well over a month.

thank you... i didnt know i could track it on the USPS website too :) so i take it that apart from being able to track the item, sending airsure doesnt always ensure faster delivery??

i just checked on the USPS website and got this...

Origin Post is Preparing Shipment We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece.

the royal mail track and trace website says the item has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery and it has said that for 15 days now... im confused lol

Faster delivery with airsure is not guaranteed. I have found that, on average, it is faster than standard airmail though, although the main advantage for me is peace of mind since I can track my item.

Not sure what that tracking message is about, I don't remember it saying that when I've used it before, but then again it's been a couple of months since I did so my memory is a bit fuzzy. Maybe it has arrived in the states but hasn't passed through customs yet? That's my best guess. Once it starts moving USPS provides pretty frequent updates about where it is.

I used Royal Mail and Parcel Force to send Jess a package from Northern Ireland. It was sent on the Friday and arrived on her doorstep on the Thursday. Just make sure to give Royal Mail a full list of what you are sending, Parcel Force phoned me up and asked me what exactly was in the box and told me that Royal Mail had put down too little information and it would have otherwise been rejected.

Because she posts under this account too I won't tell you how much it cost :-P

yeah im thinking it is in customs too.

it was just a letter and a couple of forms that i sent but the post office didnt ask me anything about it... they just stuck an airsure label to it with the address on and took my money. i will go back to the post office in the morning and get them to sort it out and then send all my documents that are needed for the I-129F by UPS or fedex or something. stress over the mail wasnt what i wanted at the start of this process though lol

Maybe you can mail a package to UPS and when they open it there is your package for them to send and the funds to pay for it?

I know this is an old topic but in the off chance that someone new might actually figure out how to use the google feature... Had you thought of scanning to send stuff? We did alot of that. Of course we have not received our NOA2 yet to see if it worked out but considering you are not sending originals in anyway...

7/15/11 Sent K1 Petition to Lockbox

8/10/11 STILL NO NOA1!

8/12/11 Called USCIS to get receipt number-NOA1 will be resent

8/16/11 Received NOA1 with date of 7/20/11

1/3/12 NOA2!!!

1/12/12 Got email notice we are through the NVC.

due to everything i originally sent getting lost in the mail that is exactly what i ended up doing. everything that didnt need an original signature was scanned and sent by email. i even had a passport photo put on a memory stick by a professional photographer which i emailed for my fiance to have printed out the correct size. i also havent got NOA2 yet but i think everything should be ok :)
