I would like to raise the following question : when in a timeline one says NVC received the case in a VISA CR-1 it means that at this point NVC has already contacted the Embassy to set an appointment or the documents have first to reach the Embassy and after this is when the interview is set ? Thanks for your answer

It means that the I-130 petition that was approved by USCIS has been received at NVC (National Visa Center) for their processing. During the NVC process one will have to submit the actual Visa application (DS-230) and Affidavit of Support (I-864) and once those are found to be alright, then one case is complete at NVC and then will have to wait till NVC sets up an interview date with the Consulate/ Embassy abroad.

Got it. In about 10 - 15 days NVC will schedule an appointment (really depends on each country and in turn on each consulate/ embassy) and will email you. Best to follow up with NVC operator sometime later this week - may be on Thursday or Friday.

hello, i have a question for you, in spain, you have to register with the civil registry? Civil Status Certificates

Available only to persons who are registered in a census (empadronamiento)." Certificado de Fe de Vida y Estado" is requested from the Registro Civil of the applicant's domicile.

I am not registered in Spain as my husband's wife yet, because we have been focused on him coming to the states, will this be a problem?

Thank u so much
