Hiya

 I'm sure a few are a tad squeamish at this question. I want to (at some point) purchase some haggis so my dear USC fiance may taste my true culture. But after looking around the web I cannot find one place in the USA where I could purchase it. I could have my parents send some but 1. I doubt it'd get through customs 2. may not be ediable by the time it gets here and 3. I don't want to risk it.

Does anybody know anywhere I could purchase it? Andy will love it :P (though we'll have the bucket ready just incase).

Love hurts

When you live an ocean away

When you change your sleep schedule to catch a few more moments

When you really need to be held and you have to imagine whilst your partner describes it

When you constantly refresh the USCIS website to see if you're getting any closer

Love Loves

When it repays you with the love of your life

When God finally answered your biggest prayer

When you can live life again in the real world but still have that eternal connection

When you wake up for to the beginning of the rest of your life with the person you fought so hard for

When you love somebody that much

You'll do anything

you might try the SCA (society for creative anachronism). Apparently there are some folks who can make it, but I don't know if they'd make it for a non-member and ship it to you.

I love haggis, I had some really good haggis tatties and neeps at a pub in Edinburgh.

I saw some canned haggis in souvenir shops there too, but I didn't know if it would be any good from a can.

You might also try British food stores on the internet, they might have the cans.

I get frozen haggis from a UK foods store near Boston. It's run by a Scot and she imports sausages, haggis and black pudding from a butcher in Scotland. The stuff is top quality. She doesn't have an online store, but I bet if a fellow Scot called her she would be more than willing to help out. Don't send it in the mail from the UK. Yes, it would get stopped by customs, and you'd have to send it overnight in a cool container anyway which would cost a bomb. I think it would even cost a bomb to buy it over here as the same overnight shipping would have to apply in order for it to get to him safely.

I love the stuff. Nice with a roast chicken

Has anyone shopped here? Tried the pork pies? They look right, and are cheaper than those NY ones....

By the way, just as an aside...

I know a place to get *proper* fish and chips!

When Sondra and I were on our honeymoon in San Francisco, she talked me into buying a full kilt outfit. (great investment!) Anyway, got talking to the guy in the kilt shop, who recommended this bar called Edinburgh Castle Pub. It's on Geary St near Larkin and Van Ness cross street.

Weird setup - you order from the bar, someone around the corner makes it and delivers it to the bar. It was brilliant!! I had two fish suppers!!! hahahaha.

Anyway, if you're in San Fran, check it out.

I've served it over here with Christmas dinner (for 10) and everyone loved it. I didn't tell them what was in it of course  I also served black pudding with brekkie. I always say if you haven't tried it, don't knock it
