This is a spin-off or parody of lauraxmarie's thread (CLICK HERE). I'm Black so this shouldn't be offensive. This is just a joke so don't get up in arms about it...

Funny! I personally didn't see the big deal in the original post. I am white, my man is black. I think minority groups can, and are entitled to, seek out friends who have similar upbringings, culture, prejudial experiences, whatever.

As the majority white man we don't always get that.

Would people take offence if I sent out a call for fellow Aussie friends?? Uling your fiance may crave the company of fellow Filipinas when she arrives in the US.

Is there a difference??!!

I just think God likes variety. :)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Absolutely not! However, there is so much tension and sensitivity concerning race due many factors that it becomes difficult even in simplistic situations.

I think that's a big problem. Many people think the answers are simple. Racism is a complex problem caused by hundreds of years of injustice, prejudice and misunderstanding. We will not find the answers in our lifetime. But I don't think a white person taking offense and re-publishing a call for african american friends is helpful - its just stirring the pot.

OK I didn't mean to jump on this debate - time I take myself to bed!

You are talking nationality, not race. A black american seeking out other black americans is choosing based on race. See the difference?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Thanks! I always love it when you stop by and bless one of my threads. Hey, somebody has to break the mold and have some fun... I really hope that folks don't get offended or it sparks heated debates. Cheers!!! - Sheriff Uling

ITA...and I think it's a sad commentary on how people can be so bigoted. I think every single one of us here sees the benefit to being open minded.....some of us here still face prejudice with a mixed nationality union. But every single one of us here would have missed out on summat amazing if we were so closed-minded like the OP of the 'African American only' post on Craiglist

It's really sad imo

I was talking culturally! :) But if you want to see a difference and say one thing is acceptable and one thing is not......
