We both joined Europa, an international penpal site. He was finally getting over his divorce and ready to get out again. I was dating another Brit at the time-nothing serious-but I wanted to know more about the culture. The site even warns that it is strictly forbidden to be used as a dating site so I thought I would be safe from getting hit on. The last time I tried an international penpal site I had a bad experience with people (yes, more than one!) emailing me twice then proposing. I started talking to John and from the first email... Needless to say pretty quickly I chucked the guy I wasn't serious about for the love of my life. Wish I met him years ago! We've been together for almost a year now. Skype and Yahoo voice chat and we both have been to the other's country and met our families. The internet is a wonderful thing.

Wow!!! I didn't realize that many people met on social web sites. Actually I got Kinga's e-mail from a family member thAT WORKS WITH HER. At first I didn't want a long distance relationship, but I guess things turn out the way they do for a reason.

I went to go meet a bunch of people from my World of Warcraft Guild. He was one of them. Grouped with him a couple times together, never really talked much. That day we met you could tell on his face he was in love. My first words to him was " Hey there, Ninja" He was a shadow priest in the game and I was a healing priest. After getting back home we never stopped talking. That summer I came back for a visit. We offically became a couple July 4th that summer. We are now playing Rift

Went on a three week tour of the UK and Ireland. He was the coach driver of my tour and we hit it off right away. He ended up even coming out to the states to visit me right after my tour ended too. It was then that we decided to really make a go of it. Talk about one hell of a souvenir!!! Didn't know I'd meet the love of my life!!

I was vacationing in Spain and staying with the family of a very good friend. While there, my friend told me about a friend and co-worker of hers that she wanted me to meet. She said that as we were both coming out of bad relationships, we'd have a lot in common. I was extremely skeptical, especially because I didn't know much Spanish and her friend didn't speak English. But I am extremely happy that she talked me into it. For whatever reason I found that I could understand HER Spanish when she spoke to me, and she could understand MY English. We've had our problems, here and there, communicating, but overall it's been very minor. My Spanish has improved immensely since we've been together...

We met on Facebook as well, by accident he commented on my status. certainly wasn't looking for anyone i was getting out of an awful marriage. but he made me laugh and smile and feel good about myself and we've been together over a year now. We hope to have our K1 approved in early 2012. fingers crossed. being apart is killing me!

my classmate gave me her postal address. I wrote him first and he replied through email. we were friends for 2 year. he visited me and the story begun

while visiting family in laos i met him. his family was having a get together and they invited my uncle's family so my mom and i tagged along. he approached me and tried talking with me but i was acting cool like i didn't care about him. even tho i was interested in him. we both felt something between each other within a few hours of being together that first day we met. we spent 4 days together. he said that those 4 days together, he thought i wasn't interested in him at all but he wasn't going to give up. lol i thought i did encourage him but he said i was hard to read.

I went down on a mission trip to Brazil with my church and she was one of our interpreters. Spent a week together on that trip, then talked constantly for 6 month then a visit and engagement in December
