Approximate date for NVC schedule for interview date

I double checked by contacting GUZ IV again, today they said they have received the case file and gave the usual auto-templated response, but what was interesting was they said

"Once an interview date is set, we will send out an appointment package to your beneficiary's address about two to four weeks ahead of the interview date."

So they actually are now admitting that they could send the packet IV 2 weeks ahead of the interview date in some cases.... yeah the short notice version. I wonder if the consulates even expects that the petitioners all know and actually use the DOS line to get the date info early? I am sure 2 weeks notice does sometimes kill the chance of most petitioners getting time off from work to come to China to be near the spouse for the interview.

wow - 2 to 4 weeks.

i note AA has decent prices on their website, routing from either LAX or ORD, to get to PVG. That's about as far as they go, online, though; you'll need to do something with ctrip.com for the domestic leg.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

So far for me it has been 10 business days since GUZ logged the case (2 weeks) and DOS still has no interview date tick yet

Yeah most likely ctrip for her segment hopefully if ctrip takes my credit card this time.

I always fly foreign carriers to Asia over American carriers due to often lower fares and much better service. I did fly AA a few times on some segments due to getting a good deal, but it often is an Asian airline such as OZ, CA, KE etc.

Mix matching china domestic and an intl segment is to risky and often does not yield much discount.

It is easier to just book USA to CAN directly with the CAN connection included.

The issue right now is XMAS may be winding down past 1st week fo January, but Chinese New Year comes next and the fares have went back up into late January/February. well to at least +1.5K. I am often able to go to China if I book in advance and go during low seasons to about $800-$900 round trip. I hoped the interview might be early to mid January, but that may not happen
