Hello All!

I found this site while I was working on filling out my I-130 and I-485 forms. I am grateful for the information that I have received on this site, so I signed up so I can share my knowledge and experience with others!

I'm a Canadian, who's parents are LPR of the US, and I've been staying with them all my life. I wasn't as fortunate to get sponsored like them, as the sponsor was my sister. I was put on that dreaded visa waiting list (been on it for 10 years!) with no luck. Anyway, after med school, I tried and tried my best to get visa sponsorship from a hospital residency program, with no such luck. I was down in the dumps for a while, until I met a wonderful girl that changed everything for me. I knew I was going to marry her, but I kept quiet about my status. When I told her, she wasn't weirded out by it and still wanted to marry me. So we recently got married in a quiet ceremony in city hall and I filed my papers. I sent them out about 5 days after we were married via fedex. The package was recieved and I am waiting to hear back from them. I included everything. I130, 485, medical exam, EAD app, and financial support form. I left no stone unturned. Anyway, how long does it take to get a NOA back?

Thanks for reading! Good luck to everyone and thanks for all of the info I got so far!

You have been living in the US with no status and going to school? presumably entered as a visitor and overstayed?

Your not adjusting from family based visa, posted in the wrong section should be moved to visitor adjustment.
