Driver License shows old address

I am not sure if this is a big deal or not. I look around the forum and people send their copies of Driver License. The thing is my DL has new address because it's expired quicker than my wife's. We moved, and so her DL still shows the old address, does it matter to send that or not? What is the "myth" beyond that? haha... or we really need to change her DL? We did update our record at the DMV though I still have those forms that we requested to update the address!

The reason for sending copies of DL is because it shows the same address. If the updated address is not shown anywhere on the license then it does not benefit you to send.

Yes the reason they send in the Driving License is to show both with same address, Lots of people send them in, but its not crucial, if you have lots of other evidence showing you cohabit at same address send that. but you could kill two birds with one stone and update your wifes license

My driver's license also shows an old address. I was required by state law to notify the Depart of Motor Vihicles of the change and they sent me an update card which I included on the photocopy.

You may be able/required to do the same.

When you move you are supposed to update the address on your drivers license regardless of expiration date.

Some states no longer does that. They also used to put some sticker at the back of the card.

In Utah when you notify the drivers license division of your move they instruct you to write your new address on a piece of tape and attach it to the back of your drivers license. You don't receive a new card with your address printed on it until it expires.

We didn't send in copies of our drivers license, we sent in a lot of other paperwork that showed common address.

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

In California, you can go to the DMV site and fill out form INF 1125 to request for your own DL record for $5. For privacy concerns, they will only mail the record to the person's current address they have in the system. You can request for the information to be certified as well. Just write "certified driver record" on top of the form before you mail it to the DMV.

I did that for my wife since we have different addresses shown on our DL's. CA DMV sent me a copy of her DRIVER RECORD INFORMATION with a DMV stamp on it within 10 days. I plan to bring that with me to the interview as proof in case the IO makes inquries about this.

Wow. Each states sure have different policy, huh!

Huge difference here in Oklahoma. Over here, you can go to the TAG agency anytime of the day, do the changes and you'll get your new DL, pronto.

I am sending my dl to uscis for removing condition...my dl shows address as main street. My wife's dl shows the address as main street north. the mail delivers to the same place..do u think uscis will cause an issue

It shouldn't be a problem but, you may want to attach a letter explaining as to why the address of your wife is different from yours.

Good Luck!
