That's the biggest load of ####### I've read today. They aren't banning McDonalds, they are simply not allowing mcdonalds to advertise their food as "healthier", because it's not. French fries weren't banned and replaced with apples, they were added to the menu as a CHOICE. Your histrionics aside, you should learn the difference between given a choice, and a ban. FWIW, I don't think smoking should be allowed in restaurants or bars. It's not about "choice," it's about health. If you want to slowly kill yourself, awesome -- but don't expose others to your nasty habit.

Kip, you really should learn about what rights you actually have versus what you seem to perceive. The government isn't telling you that you can't have McDonalds. It is saying that McDonalds shouldn't be serving such shitty food, and should not be marketing their unhealthy ####### to children. When in a jurisdiction that allows establishments to choose between smoking/no-smoking, I go to the no-smoking ones and when I am somewhere that regulates smoking in preference for public health over a nicotine addiction, I don't get angry like you do.

Well that's a false claim, from what I read they have banned the construction of new fast food restaurants in those areas (not too different from refusing a licence application for a new bar in a town full of them). They have not banned fast food restaurants period.
