Hi, I have seen the wiki about what to included in the DS-230, I am preparing it ahead of time while waiting for my NOA2

"Two passport-style photographs (2X2 inches) of the beneficiary. (Write down NVC Case# and beneficiary’s full name and date of birth on the back side of both photographs lightly)

Completed and signed form DS-230 Part I by the beneficiary

Completed and unsigned form DS-230 Part II by the beneficiary

Photocopy of the beneficiary's passport biographic data page

Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s birth certificate

Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s and petitioner’s marriage certificate

Original police certificate(s) of the beneficiary"

But I saw on some other threads that with Guangzhou its a different case, they said Guangzhou only wants the following sent to NVC, and not to send any white books, and just hold on to those for the actual interview?

The threads seem to be from 2008-2009, maybe things have changed, the postings were about how this DS-230 stuff just goes straight to the Medical office, not the Consulate after NVC.

I am planning to do regular mail and not EP,

Not sure what threads you saw this, but the first list is correct, although you only need one certified/notarized copy of the marriage book, not both. If you are doing the mail process and not EP, then remember that all the forms must be originals and Sign everything in Blue Ink so there is no confusion if it is an original or not. Definately send the white books and keep a copy of them also. My wife got three copies of each one so we had one for the IRS, one for NVC and one for the consulate.

postal processing at NVC? OK !

1. NVC instructions state that yer to send original/certified copy PLUS a photocopy of the civil documents.

2. you need white books, notarial translations, for the civil documents.

3. Don't forget the GUZ P3 Supplemental form - there's a DL link for it in the NVC EP wiki page, submit it with the DS-230.

4. IF the Police Report is sealed, don't sweat making a copy, as the Police Report is kept. Submitting photocopies (in addition to originals/certified copies) ensures you get back the birth certificate and marriage certificate on interview day.

5. Sending in a photocopy of EVERYTHING you've already sent - ya send that to your SPOUSE - just in case things get lost between USCIS/NVC/GUZ IV casefile shipments.

Good Luck !

Well if it comes sealed, how do I get a White Book of the Police Report then? Or do they ask for a White Book of that in addition or just the "original" but does it need to be translated?

oops my Mistake yes its still used for CR-1 I guess

But how do you fill out the P3 supplement?

It looks just like an info sheet.

do I just print it out, sign the signature line and date,

and on a seperate sheet of paper, provide the answers to 1 - 6?

print it out, have yer foreign spouse answer each question, handwritten, then foreign spouse signs it, sends it in with the ds-230

I thought I could just turn it into a JPEG, and type the Mandarin next to each and she sign it? will they deny it if the Mandarin is typed not hand written? It would look neater. I could make the font BLUE or

some other color so it stands out.

Loueikun, for that P3 supplement, I took a suggestion pushbrk gave to someone else and did this:

If you or if you know someone who has the full version of Adobe Acrobat, you can scan the supplement to the computer and use the full version of Acrobat to create fillable fields for each of the questions. I did this at the library since their computers had the full version of Acrobat.

Thanks for the info.

For the police certificate, my wife says you can get white books for it and said its not sealed.

So I send the original plus a whitebook of it plus a photocopy if it was not sealed?
