I just found out from DOS that London has not received my Packet 3 which I mailed to them on 25th June!!

Ive been trying to get in telephone contact with the Embassy but it's been constantly busy and I've used up all of my mobile credit and don't have a home telephone.

What is my best option at this point?!

I think I should just resend the whole Packet 3 again tomorrow by special delivery and explain what has happened in the enclosed cover letter.

Please :help: Any advise would be greatly appreciated, im in such a panic!! :crying:

I'm sooo sorry to hear that Sunshine!

I'd agree with Jeannie to resend the packet again - I sent mine "special delivery" which means it cost about 5 pounds but I actually saw the signature of the person who signed for it the next day. Still took them 13 days to acknowledge receipt but that seems peanuts compared to you.

If your main goal is to get someone in the embassy on the line then you can use skype and buy credit there to call London - it might work out cheaper to bite the bullet, call the US number and pay the 16 USD for the phone call rather than paying the 1.23 GBP per minute for being on hold, but that's your call and would require a credit card. Info on how to contact them on

http://london.usembassy.gov/visa_contact_information.html

Good luck!

In my experience never send a package without the ability to track it.

Resend and explain on a cover letter as instructed above

It had been sent Recorded Delivery and I had just assumed it had made it there when I checked the tracking number and it stated that it had been delivered from their london offices. :(

This time i will be sending it Next Day Speical Delivery.

I'm sooo sorry to hear that Sunshine!

I have written up a new cover letter which I will print off and get mailed with the Packet 3 tomorrow, do you think this will over it...

Please find enclosed my completed Forms from the Packet 3, Petition for K-1 Fiancee Visa for XXXXXXXXXXX. My Case Number is LNDXXXXXXXXXXXX.

I attended my Medical Examination on July 5th 2011 and we had hoped to set our wedding date for August 26th 2011.

After contacting Department of Service today I discovered, to my distress, that my first reply to Packet 3 (mailed June 25th 2011) has not been received by your Embassy. After 6 weeks of waiting for my Packet 4, without knowing what had happened, I am devestated. I can only assume it has been lost in the mail somewhere along the line.

After being unable to contact the Embassy via telephone today to advise me further on what

I should do, I am mailing this, my second response to Packet 3 and hope that it reaches you safely, in good time and that it can now be logged into your system without any further issue.

Contents enclosed:

• Copy of Signed (MRV) Receipt for Visa Payment.

• D-2001

• DS230 - Part I (part II due at interview)

• DS156 (in duplicate)

• DS157 (in duplicate)

• DS156K

The enclosed documents are originals. I understand that I am required to present further original documents and information at my Visa Interview in London.

Thank you kindly and I hope that you may understand and take into consideration my despair at this final point in the Visa process with regard to our Unoffical Wedding Date.

I wonder if when we call and explain our situation and our "unofficial" wedding date, whether they could arrange an interview date over the telephone and I can take my "lost" packet 3 documents along to interview?

Anyone ever heard of that being arranged?

London wrote to me asking me where my Packet 3 was when they had received it a week before they wrote to me. After a number of emails exchanged between me and whoever is on the other side, my fiance contacted his congress rep to ask them where my papers are. Within two-three days, the papers magically appeared.

I suggest you resend your papers on monday and when you're at the post office, ask for next day delivery by 9am. You should be able to track it on Tuesday if you send everything by Monday. Get the petitioner to contact their congress office and explain the situation to them and get them to chase it up.

Im so sorry that happened to you Sunshine

Send the new forms ASAP, call them a few days later and ask them for an urgent interview date. I wonder if its the postal service's fault or if the embassy misplaced the files.

Tell them your wedding date is set in stone and they might give you an interview date within the next couple of weeks (hopefully)

Good luck!

Thanks, I certainly will if I don't get any satisfaction after my SO calls the Embassy today. I didn't even receive a letter or anything to know that it hadnt been received, we only found out via the DOS yesterday, after them telling us for weeks that London had received it. So annoying, had we known sooner we could have fixed this.

We called the Embassy this morning and were given the email code to explain our situation, here is the email I will be sending. Please reply if you think I should add anything else:[/b

After numerous calls to DOS since returning my Packet 3 on June 25th 2011 my Fiance, XXXXXXXX, was continually informed by DOS that London Embassy had received my packet 3 and the documents from my medical but no interview date had yet been assigned.

After anxiously waiting 6 weeks and becoming concerned that we had still not received Packet 4, XXXXXXX again called Department of Service this past Friday 6th August 2011 and this time he was told that Packet 3 has actaully NOT been received by the Embassy.

We have both been very upset and distresed about this news, as had we known sooner we would have rectified the problem without further delay.

Our un-official wedding date, as detailed in the Packet 3 Cover Letter, is the 26th August 2011 (the 1 year anniversary of our Engagement) and this upsetting news is obviously going to set us back at least 4 weeks as we will be put to the back of the line again to be assigned an Interview Date.

I will be resending my Packet 3 (Readiness for Interview) documents by Special Delivery on Monday August 8th 2011 where I will explain the details of what has happened since June in the Cover Letter.

I would be gratefull if you could you please confirm whether our Packet 3 has indeed not been received and logged by the Embassy and advise us further as to what steps to take next regarding this matter?

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to ask if there would be any way possible of being assigned an emergency Interview Date or something along these lines.

Yours hopefully
