After weeks of gathering and signing and checking and re-checking and checking again and MORE checking... the I-129f has been collected by FedEx. And so begins the wait...

God bless all of you on this Journey.

Now I need a drink!

That is the first part of waiting, then more forms with the same information, waiting for embassy, wait for travel to US, wait for AOS have fun.,

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Hi there,

I just wanna know what do u mean "04-04-2011, Touched" just so confused about it. ( i saw that in your time table for processing )

Thnks

On the USCIS website, you are able to create a profile using your case number. It will tell you when your case was "last updated" which is called a "touch" here on VJ. Keep in mind, they are relatively meaningless. Some people get a lot of touches, some people never get any. It's pretty random.

i wish i can just fall asleep and wake up when my NOA 2 is approved! i hate this waiting, and checking of my computer every 2mins to see if i have gotten something from USCIS. and it has only been about 46 days since i got my NOA1!! mannn i have a long way to go. its driving me insane! God help me. :o

I hear you there!!! I am driving him, my friends and family, other VJ'ers,AND ME nuts with questions and nerves. I am trying to just relax and focus on other things I need to do to prepare for his arrival. Like clean out my storage and my closet and locate a driver's manual, etc. I think I am gonna take Widsy's approach this weekend and have me a big old apple martini!

7/15/11 Sent K1 Petition to Lockbox

8/10/11 STILL NO NOA1!

8/12/11 Called USCIS to get receipt number-NOA1 will be resent

8/16/11 Received NOA1 with date of 7/20/11

1/3/12 NOA2!!!

1/12/12 Got email notice we are through the NVC.

i personally think drinking only makes it worse! but that's just me. i always go to bed thinking of reasons why we would get denied but i also know i have done nothing bad/ broken any immigration laws while in the US. i actually schooled and did my OPT in the US all lasting about 61/2 years. and i currently also have a 5yrs multiple entry visa. in spite of all of that, i still worry about getting denied. its looks like things are moving at the CSC; where we applied. i just cant wait!!!! haaaaaa i going insane with this crazy thinking and waiting. :o:(

I don't drink often but I am so wound about this process. I have been frustrated because I saw everyone was getting NOA1's in 2-7 days and it has been 22 days for us with no text, no email, no anything at all. I think the date everyone is entering must occur before they are actually hearing anything? Then I read somewhere that some people never get the NOA1 at all. So I have relaxed a bit. I still wish I had a receipt number to obsessively check the USCIS site with. I just miss him so badly. I guess I am going to have to go get a life for sanity's sake! hehehe

What is OPT? I have read MOST k1 visas are approved-like 90% or more-so you should definitely be fine. The approval process doesn't worry me so much as the AOS. I make enough but still worry that it is just enough so they will find some little issue to deny. I am trying to just not worry about it. It is mostly those days where I really miss him that make me nuts. It does make me mad that this process has to be such a process because some people want to use it fraudulently.

OPT is Optional Practice Training. its like getting a training in the field of your studies after college. its usually a year long but if you get a degree in a math or science field you may qualify for an extension of a year and half. i did both OPT and the year and half extension. i am actually still working for the same company i did my OPT with in my home country..which is pretty sweet. so i sort of have a job if i move back to the US.

i think i heard the AOS is usually easy for people who go through the K-1 route. how easy? i don't know.i don't think you should worry that much about that. if you make roughly $19000 a year, i think you should be fine in the financial department. i am no expert at this stuff so don't take my word for it. i can be totally off. i guess everyone has something irrational that worry then when it comes to things that we care very much about.

Well, I have children so my income has to be higher. I think the whole don't worry about it is a good plan but easier said than done. Having a job lined up for you here already is great. Huge relief I am sure. I know we are kind of worried about how his credentials and all will translate here. Considering he is UK he should be ok versus some folks.
