Hey Everybody:

because I was really glad to find interview experiences before I had mine I figured I will share mine with the ones that still have to go through it.

We had our Interview (me the non citizen and my husband citizen) on February 14 2006 at 13:00. We were supposed to go to the DC office in Fairfax, VA. We live like 20 minutes from the office but you never know how traffic's going to be in this area so we left 1 hour and 30 minutes early. After waiting nervously in the car for 1 hour we went inside. The line at security wasn't long and we also found where we had to go really quickly (second flor). We were 30 minutes early. The room was full of people. We dropped off our appointment letter and sat down expecting a really long wait.

You can look through windows in two offices. There were interviews taking place so i watched what there were doing. At 12:45 another couple was called into that office and I wanted to see how long it's going to take but before they were done the immigration officer called my name. It was 12:55. EARLY....

We went into his office and before he asked us to take a seat we had to swear that we are only going to tell the truth. Then he asked for my passport, DL and EAD. He compared my husbands and my address. We just had moved and my husband's DL had the new adress on it. The DMV wouldn't let me get a new one so I still had the old address on it. I had a piece of paper though from the DMV stating my new address.

He asked me all my information again. He asked me for my husband's name.

Then he asked me the questions from the I-485. The ones about if you have been a prostitute, supported a terrorist oraganization....

Then he asked my husband about the affidavid. He told him about his new job and how much he is making now. As proof he wanted to see a letter of employment and tax returns from 04 I gave him the ones from 05 as well.

After that he wanted to see evidence of our relationship. I had brought our lease, car registration, car loan (just try to bring as much stuff as possible that has both your names on it). He was happy about it.

Then he asked me how we met. Then my husband had to tell his version.

He asked for pictures. We showed him the ones from the wedding and then he asked to see newer ones so we showed him the ones from Christmas and new years.

While my husband was still showing the pics he was already doing stuff with the computer. He said that everything was teriffic and said he was going to approve me and stamp the passport right away. (My passport is still in my maiden name but that doesn't matter). He explained the letters of approval he gave us and the removal of conditions which we would have to apply for in 1 year and 9 month from the day of approval. We have to do that because we haven't been married for 2 years yet.

Then he disappeared to stamp my passport.

And we left. The officer was really nice and I think I was already approved before the Interview even began. He probaply swa my husband and me cuddeling in the waiting room.

The whole thing lasted for like 30 minutes.

That was a really nice Valentine's Day present. The Green Card will arrive in 2-4 weeks.

So no USCIS for a little while.

Good luck for everybody's interview and I hope it'll be as easy as mine.
