To answer the O/P's question " No, we didn't".

Liefde is een bloem zo teer dat hij knakt bij de minste aanraking en zo sterk dat niets zijn groei in de weg staat

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

I'm sure some people must be tired of reading my same reply to each thread that comes up on this topic. :P But I do it for the sake of the OP.

Yes we met online, on aol instant messenger in the end of Sept 2001, wow it's been 5 years now! We don't know the exact day because I had no clue I'd be marrying him one day so didn't go out of my way to remember that first day of talking. I just know it was a week or two after 9/11. It was a random meeting, I could have rejected his first IM to me, which is a very scary thought!!! I remember seeing the message, you have a message from suj****, accept or deny(reject)?, anyone who uses AOL IM will know what I mean. I remember contemplating for a minute whether to accept or not. He had no info about himself anywhere. Oh thank God I clicked accept.

We became buddies, and discussed a bunch of stuff many people would think was boring like religion, politics, anything. But we became better friends and within a couple months I developed felings for him and he did also. I thought I was going insane with thoughts like, "He's REALLY far away, in INDIA! I met him online!!? what are you doing Christina?!! Yep, you've lost your mind..." etc. :D The rest is history...

Met online Sept 2001, met face to face Oct 2003, married Sept 2004.

It is funny. I think about fate and stuff like that all time...

* If I had loved NYC and not wanted to leave

* If Stewart had gotten a job at that surf camp

* If they had wanted me to teach something else...

I love it :) I love stories like that!

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
