Yes this is true, they don't call every day; kind of a mild annoyance that I prefer to ignore.

Going to try and get a visa for Vietnam on Monday to be delivered (hopefully) by next Friday.

Thanks my friend and :ot2:

This topic is proof that technology is dumber than a live person, no matter how much money is spent on it.

Sounds fantastic.

Not even close to being true, don't be a victim. Contact them here: http://www.consumerh...isclosure.html. Keep a copy and make sure that if the nonsense doesn't stop, send a cease and desist letter to them. Notify your state's consumer protection agency. If your cell number is new, then I'd ask for it to be changed but otherwise I'd document everything and sic the law on them.

No, that is not even close to being accurate.

I've repeated myself, must be due to my intense hatred of collection agencies.   The advice is still sound for anyone else who finds themselves in a similar predicament.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I was asleep  .

Thank you for all the good advice and input! From what I read on various websites and on here, it seems like this company is a true pain in the a** to get rid of.

My husband had to deal with a collection company some years ago but he resolved the problem with a cease and desist letter. He always talked to a "real" person though, had a case number and all.

NCO seems to be different, there are countless complaints against them and they just pretty much ignore any legal steps you can take against them.

At this point, I am a little worried that they really might "merge" this Jason guy with myself eventhough that would be kind of difficult as I am a woman and to the best of my knowledge, I have never given them my name.

I will call them one more time to try and talk to a manager. If that doesn't do anything (which I doubt), I will have my number changed. It seems like the easiest way out and I don't really want to invest much time fighting people I shouldn't be involved with in the first place.

I just got the phone and the number in June when we returned from overseas. I am a little attached to it since it is super easy to remember (yeah, I am one of these people, lol) but I just can't and don't want to deal with all these agencies right now, as we are still living under very stressful conditions right now, living in a hotel, expecting our baby soon,...

I am in Louisiana right now, Dallas was just my local office during AOS, sorry for the confusion.

I'll post an update on how this all continues and hopefully ends soon. :-)

Sounds like a good solution. Changing your number is likely the best/easiest approach. Most people don't have time to spend all day writing letters and filing complaints when a simpler solution is available.

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

To be honest, if I had a home and no baby on the way, I'd totally take them on. I mean, go the entire way up to suing them for harrassment, reporting them, anything.

It's just not the right tome now...

Well, who knows what "surprises" a new number would bring...

That's how I get coupons for free sandwiches at Subway, McDonalds, Wendy, KFC...You name it. I get home and complain through their website. Writing a detail message saying "I been through the drive thru twice, and ordered a large Mocha, but it is filled to a small cup. It happened to me twice on two consecutive days" as an example. And, subway for refusing to accept my buy one get one free. I ripped the coupon off the ad, and didn't have the address of where it was applied.

I wouldn't have the time and energy to do that, but I agree that you shouldn't take all the ####### that companies try to pull on you.

Next time they call ask if a dialer was used to call you. It is illegal for a dialer to call a cell phone even if they have the correct party. Then ask for a manager or supervisor ask them to remove your phone number and say this is the 3rd or 4th(or how ever many times they have called) and threaten legal action(even if you will not). Good luck and I hope that helps. I'll see if I can get some more info on how to make them stop.

Actually, that opportunity rarely presents itself. Let's pray that the OP lucked out.

That's the only way to get these corporations to change. It's a pain but if you don't do it, they'll walk all over you. Kudos, Consolemaster!
