So, my fiance went on his K1 visa interview today. He was given form 221g (yellow paper). Turns out that $20,000 per year income is below povery level (for 2 people), and $10,000 in bank account has no value (they don't even look at the bank statement). They asked him to bring documents from a co-sponsor (which thank God I have plenty, I was blessed with a great family and friends). He was asked to bring more pictures (which we don't have). We hate taking pictures, plus we did not know that at some point we are going to apply for a visa that requires a lot of pictures. (we found couple of more, hope it will be enough). And this is what one would call an easy case for both of us: no criminal past, never married, never had children, he never atempted to come to USA before, we have been together for 4 years, I visited him many times during that time, we have plenty of evidence (phone bills, skype records, IM records), he has a univerity degree and works, I have a university degree and I work. Seems OK. So in conclusion, nothing ever goes smooth in the immigration process. Faith and hope to all.

Hmmm...the original post was made in August 2011??

Yes, there's been a couple of resurrections lately. Maybe the people replying found the threads through Google or the forum's search capacity rather than on the first couple o' pages. Odd.

There's that smell again...
