Hi all,

I had my Interview on August 02, 2011 for CR1 immigration visa and they said they approve my visa but we need to go through AP. Did anyone in Chennai had there Interview in May, June, July, August 2011 and was given 221g blue color slip in Chennai and said putting your case into Administrative processing (AP). Please do update if you had been put into AP and later approved also so we can have an idea of how much time they take in Chennai.

Please response people even if it was later approved with visa. So other can get an idea about the approx time in Chennai. Response will be considered deeply and will be thankful for your reply.

Thanks a lot in advance for your reply. Awaiting for response.

Do you have any red flags in your case?

Arranged or Love Marriage?

Is there a big age difference between you and your wife?

Different religous background etc. ?

There has to be a reason that they had to give you a blue slip. Something is not lining up in your file.

There is no red flags in my case. The CO said clearly I could see no problem in your case and marriage and hence i approve it but as per the procedure we need to go for AP.

My marriage is an Arranged one and there is no much age difference. She is 4 years younger than me. We both belong to same caste. The CO said directly your case is clear and there is no problem but we need to have an AP done

Please don't misunderstand me. We are only trying to help you figure out what could have been the reason - obviously, they will be doing some kind search while you are in AP. And I am concerned, as we will be heading to Chennai sometime in September. Are you by chance a member of any organization that doesn't have good reputation! Think of something that could have raised a red flag.

However we pray that you will get your visa soon.

Not a problem. I dont mind with your question. But I am no where a part of any organization dude. I heard this AP is done for many people in Chennai nowadays mainly for men. But still I am not aware whether it for many so only wanna check. Anyways all the best for your Interview and hope u dont fall into AP. But be ready for anything since this can happen to anyone anytime. Its in the CO hands.

Thanks for your prayers.

Thanks for the information. I opened a thread for guys going to Chennai to share but got no response - Bombai thread has got good response.

By the way NVC by mistake gave us Mumbai but I got is changed to Chennai - I am wondering now, if I did right! One consolation is it is going to be my wife that is going for interview and you said that thye are doing this mainly to men.

Hope some more Channai goers respond and share.

Not to worry. All the best I hope your wife does not fall into AP. Please keep as much extra proof and document which proves your relationship. They are moody and can ask anything. If you don't have then they put that also into AP. However they did not even ask a single paper from me other than pics. Hope its goes smooth for your wife.

Thats interesting. Per Procedure? That's weird. If that was the case then everyone should be getting A.P.

Yes, I already found that USCIS does Name check through FBI. But this AP is complete Name check and history of each person to verify there is no records found on the person to whom Visa is given.

I believe Chennai had few major cases of fraud which was at very high level including ppl from consulate and for time being they had closed down the consulate.

So now they are much more stricter in Chennai consulate.
