Looking for Russian stores in L A

My stepson is heading to Long Beach near Los Angeles and I'm wondering if anyone knows where there are some Russian stores or communities. I'm sure his roommate, a Russian girl, would also want such information. I use to live in L A county but never knew about any Russian stores or communities. Any information would be a great help.

Grandma's Deli Babushka is the place! I used to work with a Russian woman who goes there every week to stock up. Apparently the terrible service there makes her homesick. I can personally attest that the sandwiches are good and the borscht is delicious.

It's in Hollywood, so kind of far from Long Beach, but if you read the Yelp reviews apparently a Russian woman living in Long Beach thinks it's worth the drive.

Thanks, that's a start. As for my son and his friend, they do not think driving a little is a big deal. They would drive to Sacramento just for the evening and that's about 90 miles.

West Hollywood has the 2nd biggest russian population in the U.S. (no, i'm not trying to mess with you, despite W. Hollywood's reputation). The area around Santa Monica Blvd., and Fairfax is the epicenter of the L.A. Russian community. All up and down Santa Monica Blvd. there are Russian bodegas and markets.

How'd your stepson end up with a Russian girl as his roommate?

My stepson is the proverbial "babe magnet". He is tall, thin, well built, handsome with a kind personality. He attracts all kinds of women and has been a big hit with our Russian community and the young women in it. Unfortunately, he doesn't take advantage of his ability and is easily talked into doing things by women. Thus, the Russian roommate that is attending the university while he just attends the junior college. We have tried to teach him to be demanding in his own right, but so far our advice has fallen on deaf ears.
