I didn't get you quite right. Which income are you entering as 0.00? Do you have part 7 filled up with assets that is 3 times the 125% requirement?

complicated story, but... NVC told me last month to put Survivor Benefits as part of "household" income. I decided to skip my personal freelance income, and focus instead on full documentation of assets: home equity, all investments, IRA, etc. You name it, I documented it. Over 200 pages of documentation. Based on the math, it is a no-brainer.

Unfortunately, I must have the wise-cracker who wants to look extra-thorough and make me claim some kind of personal income instead of leaving #23 & #24 blank. That one line. They make me claim and justify that ONE line that should have nothing to do with how we qualify our AOS. I don't really make $0.00, so I had to prove what I DO make. I got in touch with the guy I do freelance marketing work for... he signed a letter as per our standing agreement.

Sent it FedEx with a new coverletter discussing my employable skills, including work experience and mulitple degrees. I described the fine arts program I GIVE to the schools (b/c with the State government budgets, they cannot afford to PAY me) and how it benefits 1200 students 6 times a year in-class for FREE for the past 4 years. A large part of the program is team-building and self-confidence, with an emphasis on courage, character, and commaraderie. Given the London riots, I believe even more passionately about the need for such programs.

IRONY: If the State governement had it's budget in order, the schools would pay for the program.

MORE IRONY: As soon as hubby gets here, we plan to both work fullltime and share parenting needs of the 5 kids. But now, of course, we are yet another week away from that. Feels like a viscious circle.

Long answer to a short question :)

Called NVC today. They haven't received my last RFE packet (which was overnighted yesterday and supposed to have arrived today but usps.com is telling me it's still "en route"). The lady also told me that I should have another checklist letter coming my way soon :crying: Can't they just overlook all of my mistakes for once?

Ugh. Both my NVC packets arrived at NVC on June 20th. On July 08th, I received an e-mail from NVC saying they received my DS-230, but were waiting on my Affidavit of Support. On July 11th, I got sign in fail and the automated voice recording said they received my checklist letter (which I am assuming was my Affidavit of Support). I have called like 4 times since then and they keep telling me they have all the documents they need and that it is in final review and don't need anything else from me right now. I'm so frustrated, I hope everything is ok.

that... is... crazy crappy. I don't want yet one more possible random length delay between SIF and interview date.. So you are not even in the interview queue yet.. Your AVR message says the same thing as mine did starting this afternoon.. "We have your checklist, it arrived on <date> please wait 20 days for further processing blah blah blah" .. *why* would you be stuck there? That makes no sense at all...

e-mail I believe. At least that's how I got my first and when I asked the operator if this one coming up would be coming through email she said yes. Snail mail would kill me. One RFE would take up to 3 weeks.

has anyone recently got their interview scheduled for september?

I called NVC yesterday and it looks like my documents have been sitting there since they got there because the operator told me they're still waiting for the checklist from me. She told me to wait another week. At this point i'm doubting i will be interviewed in September ;/

I got my checklist item over the phone when I called to see if they received AOS.

How do they usually send it? email or snail mail?

I also got mine through E-mail.

i have no idea what the second RFE is for...I guess I should wait and see.

In my case the checklist response letter was the email saying to send in the IV. They sent it AFTER my IV had aleady been delivered to NVC. Then a couple of days later I got the AVR message "checklist response recevied." Then a few days later I got the SIF and the operator said processing complete.

There is just a delay of a couple days updating the NVC computer from the actions of the mailroom and reviewers. So a lot of RFEs relating to the checklist are actually False RFEs.

My fingers still crossed for a September interview, but it's getting late.
