called for updates. they reviewed AOS today and I got an RFE!!

I had based AOS on assets, not income.

Mistake: put "self employed since 2011" but I left income blank. I was supposed to put "$0.00" and I was supposed to submit a business license, letterhead, etc. Right...

Darn it - and I cannot email anything - I have to send hardcopy. :bonk:

Add another week to my dates...

darn darn darn darn darn.....! :crying:

Sorry to hear that - diagnosis is half the battle won. My AOS is received on the same day as your - will have to call a little later and inquire.

Me too! I know of several mistakes I made on the I-130 that could have been an RFE and one mistake that should have been an RFE on the IV.. They went through with no problems.. I did the 864ez for the AOS and I think it is a no-brainer.. So now I'm worried that I'm due some kharma pay-back :) I won't be suprised if it is delayed until tomorrow, I've seen a few timelines with seven business days required for the AOS. We are both paying for that issue where the AOS fees stayed "In PROCESS" for nearly a week..

Ga! Can't wait to get to the interview queue!

Good luck!

Well at least you know what you need to fix it so that's half the battle!

true, but we are really hoping for September interview & arrival...

one reason: so we can both find employment here and have a solid "annual income" number (oh, the irony). Hard to put in work hours while juggling the 5 kids on my own.

another reason: the kids start school on Aug. 15th... 5 kids at 3 schools, and I want to be done with this ASAP so I can focus 100% on the kids and the fine-arts program I develop for the public schools (for free, again: irony of me donating my program to government-funded institution and having that lack of income hold up our AOS...). I have been so distracted by immigration this summer.

So close though. And we recognize others have waited so much longer than we have. - M.

I wish, I had sent off my AOS also (using DS-230 cover sheet) along with DS-230 without waiting for the AOS payment status (took a week) and I would have been done on 8/8 and got into the interview queue. I submitted I-864 but leaving the part 7 blank (still submitted bank statement, as my 2010 wage was below 125% - just worked in summer vacation). Based on the information gathered in the forum, I should be fine though I started working from 6/27/11 after graduation - 2008 was good and 2009 was also good (joined school in Aug). Didn't want to use father as co-sponsor, due to then confusion on single/joint income in item 25, as he files jointly.

re: political movement - absolutely. As soon as we're done, I am talking to District Representative office about the $millions wasted. More on that in a few months.

USPS - from Sacramento County, CA area, $18 method only guarantees 2-3 day delivery.

I paid twice that at FedEx and that bad boy is getting there tomorrow morning.

My fear: they will say "oh THAT is your income? We don't care about assets, we need a co-sponsor" and that will add another week to the timeline = another week without Å (hubby) = another week without fulltime pay. ohhhh I am feeling the burn of bitter irony today.
