I have a question my lawyer said to me that all we're waiting for in an interview date. Do I receive anything in the mail?

History:

Husband and I were childhood friends (neighbors)

left the philippines when I was 6yrs old

Came back to the Philippines 2004 which we hanged out

1 year of courtship

2005 we became official

2006 went back to philippines for vacation

2010 went home to the Philippines March-September

The AVR NEVER updated right away with any of the steps on our case. It always updated overnight. So I wouldnt say that it updates automatically the instant it's done. That's not true.

Based on what I have read here.. you will only get interview letter/ email once you are assigned date. You can always contact NVC and find out the status of your case.

It suddenly occurred to me today: Next Tuesday our case is PAST "15 days." On Friday I was told the "lost" military certificate was actually just never entered into the computer when it arrived with original ds-230 packet on Aug 4 (22 biz days to Sept 6) and reviewed on Aug 15 (15 biz days to Sept 6). So, technically, when they say "give us 15 days to process your application," my new response is going to be "the NVC is now beyond that parameter."

They should have "processed" that military record back during the original review.

Question is: how can I get the reviewing supervisor to find the case file, find the military cert and close the case as they should have done a few weeks ago? :help:

It just keeps getting more twisted - I am so frustrated. On Friday they said "oh - don't worry. The person who originally processed your ds-230 on Aug 15 forgot to enter teh military doc into the computer, so it's probably just sitting in your original case file." WHAT!?! On Aug 31 the AVR said they "sent a letter on Aug 30" (which showed up Sept 2, dated Sept 1).

TODAY the AVR says they sent a letter Sept 2 for missing things, and I don't know - is that referring to the date they actually did send that RFE? Or is it another issue about which I will hear on Tuesday and receive the new email letter a few days later???

VENT:

If they are asking for ANY doc's & to wait anothe r 15 biz days, I will tell them they have had ALL ORIGINAL DOC's since Aug 4 and their 15 days are up. Darn it - I have no recourse. The embassy said I have to wait for NVC, my Congressional rep gave the suggestion of "calling NVC directly" - duh. And this is all the NVC's stinking fault. I am so mad. I am so frustrated. People keep telling me "oh, but you only lost a few days, or a few weeks" etc, but the fact is, the USCIS mailroom cost us a Sept interview, and now NVC mistakes might cost us an October interview. If it were just me alone here, no problem. I would have been in Stockholm the past 2 years and would have done DCF. But with 5 kids, I am out-of-my-gourd b/c I have very little time for this nonesense. Emotionally exhausted. I feel defeated. grrrrrrr.

They might have given you another RFE on the same RFE that you had before. I know it sounds weird, but I had 3 RFE's that were all requesting the same thing eventhough I had sent it in the day after I got my first RFE. I really hope this is the case for you and your case will be complete soon. Please try not to stress too much. I know it's difficult, but there's only so much we can do after NVC receives the paperwork. Focus on your kiddos, try to get all of the things needed for the interview ready. Your interview date will come soon. I just know it!

:)thanks. yeah - we are hoping the AVR re: "sept2 letter" is just a system update re: email previously referred to on AVR as the "Aug30 letter."

I am asked constantly: "Is he HERE yet?" "Do you think you bugged NVC too much and they are doing this on purpose?" "Would an attorney help?" and the best of all: "...but you are MARRIED!!!" oooof! hits hard, although I know they mean well. MY big gripe: NVC didn't process the accompanying original docs completely when they received the original ds-230, and now WE have to suffer for NVC mistake, with no way to escalate the issue. I want to yell "go to the case file and look on page 9!!! case closed!!"

Focus in kiddos: absolutely! my biggest joy. (L) 5 yr old said on Friday: "Mom. I didn't eat my sandwich because it had a smile on it and I wanted to show it to you." LOL

Supervisor Sue saved the day and got a manager to actually open the case file and see that everything has been ready to be "case closed" since Aug 16, despite all the misc times they looked b/w then and now.

Supervisor Sue saved the day and got a manager to actually open the case file and see that everything has been ready to be "case closed" since Aug 16, despite all the misc times they looked b/w then and now.
