update: as of midnight, the AVR now tells me NVC "received the checklist letter response on August 23rd, please allow 20 days, etc."

phone rep: "no. I guess that would work. Or you could just wait the 20 days until it's reviewed and you are notified by the NVC."

... stunned silence... then stiffled laughter on my part. clearly this child has never been in love.

Aaagh-we got a RFE on the AVR so got my husband to talk to an operator. They claim that we didn't put my Police Certificate from Chile (I lived there for 3 years) in the IV packet. My husband definitely did, plus translation, plus a copy. He insisted that they are mistaken so they said they would get a supervisor to look over the packet again. How annoying-I'll have to send another copy from here if they continue to claim it's not there. Surely they can't have lost the original, translation and copy.

Also a false RFE for AOS packet-we sent it in the same envelope.

Was hoping not to have any delays.

Hey, congratulations to everybody who has their SIF!

I'm having a hard time though because my timeline is right up there with you guys. BUT because of this and that, my husband had to mail the IV packet from France. To mail it overnight you have to have a phone number for the NVC and he didn't have it. So he just mailed it regular (but certified) mail. That was August 13th. I'm so frustrated because we don't know when it arrived and I am not getting anything from the NVC.

I put so much effort into making that packet perfect and I feel like he threw it away by sending it regular mail. I'm sorry to complain... Feeling frustrated and down.

Even regular mail from the UK seems to get to me within a week so I would think they should have it shortly if not already! You'll be done soon and can take that big sigh of relief.

does he have a tracking number? I registered my mail too. I am from Philippines but I was able to track it down when it arrived in US. I used this site https://www.usps.com/. I hope that helps.

From India I get packages here in the Midwest in 7-8 days (regular mail). I am sure it will get there in a week or less.
