Waiting for Case Completion at NVC

I had the same thing happen to me! I got three RFE's for the same RFE before! They just really want you to get your stuff in- AND THEN THEY DON'T CHECK IT FOR ANOTHER WEEK! I almost had a heart attack every time I called NVC because they kept telling me there was a new RFE (what seemed like) every other day, but they just wanted the same thing. It seems like they've been processing RFE's almost exactly a week after they receive them.

You know what really burns me is they are having these things go out on the weekend when there's NOBODY to answer your questions when you get these things. So on the weekend when I think well I can relax for 2 days nothings going to happen we get these first thing when we wake up and now in the evening again and I won't sleep right for 2 days not knowing for sure there isnt some sort of an issue. Ugh I just can't wait until this papework ####### is finished. I start doubting that I have everything in order when they send this out and it's driving me mad! I'm seriously going to need medication if this continues lol

#######!!!! I just got ANOTHER email from NVC with the SAME checklist but the letter is dated today. The one I got earlier today was dated yesterday. What the hell is going on????

You are not alone. Last Sunday I got 2 emails for our AOS RFE, 3 days after I already got news from phone rep & 2 days after they aleaady had my response in mailroom (barcode... hellooo!!??)

The irony with today's email is...

I was so excited b/c the AVR changed to "we have received your reponse to the checklist, please allow 20 days, blah-blah".

Then I opened the email (dated today) it told me they were waiting for BOTH RFE responses. I really had to read it twice before I realized it was the mesage for LAST Monday. If I hadn't called, an dI was sitting around waiting passively, it would have taken a full week before I could have responded. Is it any wonder I keep getting THESE communications on the weekend?

Do they have ANY idea what kind of emotional TRAUMA they are putting us through??? I joke a LOT, but I guess humor is my coping mechanism for a process that renders us slaves to their whim and victims to a failing IT department.

I am seriously considering going back to school to finish my Sociology PhD. Dissertation topic? easy: Immgration Experience.

THANK YOU to all of you March/April filers - you guys are tremendous. I already know will cry tears of joy when I hear of your happy reunions with loved ones. In a month we need to start a thread for "2011 Happy Landings" or something. Our "APRIL" and "NVC DELAY" and "NVC COMPLETION" have been the most used and read, I think b/c they are helpful and supportive. Thank you so much.

BTW: JKminney: I think someday we will discover the man behind the NVC IT Dept curtain: Dr. Who. Very timey-wimey and cross-threaded.

I just said to John you know going through this once is enough but this 2nd time around I've just had it. I'm beyond frustrated that someone else gets to delay our life. I've lost 10 lbs the last month because of this it just makes me sick and I'm to the point I could cry just because I'm frustrated and annoyed.

I too received a missive from the NVC today - an email dated Aug 20, telling me about the Monday Aug 15 ds-230 RFE and telling me they are waiting for the AOS REF response. This is despite the fact that the AOD REF response was in their mailroom on Friday the 12th and teh ds-230 RFE response in their mailroom Tuesday the 16th.

When I first read it I go so mad, thinking they were asking for even MORE financial evidence. Then I realized they are doing the hokey pokey and turning themselves around... and I shoudl just sit back and enjoy the show my tax dollars provide. These process flows and IT systems are SO archaic.

<insert big booming voice here> "and on the 8th day, the NVC said: ... 'please wait 20 days for processing'... "

You are too funny!! Thanks so much for making me laugh! We all need to laugh through this crazy process or we will all end up physically or mentally ill!

i think your case will be completed on monday. I am following your timeline since we have almost the same. I had an RFE too because of the IV packet but my case was completed last friday. Chillaaaaxxx

I said this (re: weekend triggers on their database scripts) to hubby today. They run the script over the weekend to satisfy their internatl reporting. Not to do US any service, or they would trigger the script nightly.

And btw: just now I got my 2nd helping of the "too little too late checklist for something they should have received and processed last week". Yep. 2 copies of the same obsolete message w/in 24 hours. My adrenaline JUMPED when I saw that letter! not healthy.

So I think your email means --- they asked for a letter to be sent when they opened the AOS first and had no clue the ds-230 was sitting in another room. The AVR means your ds-230 is now on someone's to-do list. (I hope this is the case for both of us.) Unfortunately, what it might mean is that the AVR finally cuaght up with the opening of the AOS, and since it's okay, they said "give them the happy AVR message, but not the case closed one b/c we're not done with ds-230."

It's like handing you a dessert menu when you really want the check. Because don't you really want to hear it might take 6-8 weeks on that phone message? NOT!

I find it very condicending and would appreciate if you not talk to me like I'm a 12 year old. I have been through this process twice and the first time I never received any emails. So pardon moi if I have concerns.

I too went through the anxiety/depression/anger phase. It was about a good month and a half ago. It is an ugly monster I must say. Everyday was a living hell and the nights was even worse. It was a VERY stressful time at that time and currently it still is but I have found my coping mechanisms. I hope you find your own and studying in the healthcare field right now... you have no idea the issues constant stress can cause of the body. Take care of yourself guys. We'll be together with our spouses' soon.

I love the fall weather, football season and the holidays associated with fall. I personally think it's the best time of the year.

I just have the dream over and over again seeing Kinnari come through the sliding doors pushing her baggage cart with the I-551 stamp in her passport.

That will be such a relief like an elephant lifted off my chest. I can take full respiration's again! lol

I know what you mean. I love fall too. Finally getting to wear a sweater after the summer and being able to have a fire. It's a relief everytime John comes and he hasn't been here since January and I've only seen him 2 wks in between now so this process can be done anytime now

I did call NVC this morning and was told by the rep to disregard the 2 emails. So hopefully within the next few days this paperwork business will come to an end
