Waiting for Case Completion at NVC

Guys I finally got my SIF! ahh! I'm so happy! I will call the operator right now. I have been calling NVC everyday, twice a day to check on my case and RFE. So excited right now!

I just called and the rep confirmed my CC. He also told me that all September interviews are full =( That's alright, my goal was him being here by November. Today's going to be a good day.

Congrats!!! My goal was to have my husband here by our first anniversary (Oct 16) but not sure that can happen now. I hope all of us who missed September get EARLY October interviews!

I received my RFE for my AOS. My IV was done about 2 days after they had reviewed and issued my RFE. RFE took about 10 days (from the time they issued it to the time I got the approval).

Today was supposed to be "DAY 8" for my AOS REF. 3 or 4 phone calls today and no progress, darn it. I got Mr. Mumbler again - that kid is incomprehensible. He put me on hold 3 times and seemed so confused. He seemed to panic as though the IV REF packet was lost. I think during one of the "on-holds" a Supervisor told him to read me the 20-day Act, b/c he all of a sudden started reading it in a clear voice. I just laughed. (sigh) I was hoping AOS RFE would have cleared up today - but... no evidence of it.

I finally remembered how the AOS fields ended up as blank - b/c when I tried to type N/A in them, they changed to "0.00" which is not true. Too bad I didn't just leave them as "0.00" <sigh>.

BTW: Phone Rep "Nikki" is great - very happy, very enthusiastic, and she agrees that after passing through the juncture of bad news, one should salve the wound by ingesting at least a modicum of chocolate. Perhaps even a plethora. I congratulated her for her independent thinking and separation from the Borg.

Heck - if I am going to call NH every darn day, I might as well have some fun. I am thinking I shoudl make an audio recorded note to recite the id number name bday recitation. That way when they start the 20-Day Act, I can replay the ID/Name/Bday/Phone/Email Act. Just sayin...

You should have your SIF soon. My RFE took exactly one week for them to close my case. I'm crossing my fingers for you.

I did call the NVC tonight - I think just out of habit.. That and I have my WAC number memorized, use it lose it! I am guessing that since they just about let all people with a case closed before the 15th have a September interview that we should be good to go (near the front of the line) in October. I'll spot three days for the ones that are good at giving a convincing sob story and get to butt in line so I am going to put my money down for October 7th - though actually I would prefer the 10th - Fly in of Friday the 7th, spend the weekend in Bogota making sure everything is perfect as far as paperwork and some happy reunion time..

I'm crossing my fingers you are good to go by the end of the week!

My case closed on July 14th. I thought Sept. But I am still waiting for an interview. I think it is very difficult to guess.

Both John and I got an email this morning dated August 19th about the checklist saying we are missing Immigrant Visa Application Part I so is this a NEW RFE or the one that I was told was a false RFE from them reviewing the AOS forms. AVR says they have received a checklist letter response August 18th so now I'm sitting here thinking is this something new I need to response to. I mean from what I'm reading it's for the IV packet and that's what they got on the 18th so why is this letter dated the 19th and I just got it today???

Same thing happened to me... well the AOS/IV packet order was reversed but they sent the email the day after the AVR said they received the checklist..

So let me get this straight even though the AVR says they recieved the response to my checklist, they sent an email out the day after they recieved it. So I shouldn't have anything else to send in right?

They reviewed your AOS first.. and found the your IV package was not yet reviewed. They issued you a checklist.. and the delayed email.. Then they acknowledged you IV package, the AVR message basically is "We told you to send us something and you did but we have not evaluated it yet". So they know they have your IV package but they have not reviewed its contents yet.

So.. nothing you need to do at this point until they actually review your IV package.

I too received a missive from the NVC today - an email dated Aug 20, telling me about the Monday Aug 15 ds-230 RFE and telling me they are waiting for the AOS REF response. This is despite the fact that the AOD REF response was in their mailroom on Friday the 12th and teh ds-230 RFE response in their mailroom Tuesday the 16th.

When I first read it I go so mad, thinking they were asking for even MORE financial evidence. Then I realized they are doing the hokey pokey and turning themselves around... and I shoudl just sit back and enjoy the show my tax dollars provide. These process flows and IT systems are SO archaic.

<insert big booming voice here> "and on the 8th day, the NVC said: ... 'please wait 20 days for processing'... "

#######!!!! I just got ANOTHER email from NVC with the SAME checklist but the letter is dated today. The one I got earlier today was dated yesterday. What the hell is going on????
