This thread is great. I really need other people to relate to. I sent in both of my packets on July 27th. My AVR recording says: "a packet of information and documents was generated on 07/21/2011 and will be sent within the next few weeks..." My IV status was posted as PAID on that date. I talked to the operator yesterday and they told me they do not have information and it may be in their mailroom still "please wait 20 days for us to process your documents."

I'm still waiting...

I too have the same message. Your packets might have been received by NVC on 7/28, so around 8/10 - 8/12 you may have the good news. Keep updating when there is a change in your AVR message.

I have read a ton of past NVC guides and threads on VJ and several other immigration sites .DO NOT I REPEAT, DO NOT RELY ON THE AVR!

If you want a better more reliable answer, call NVC and inquire about the status of your case. These guys can tell you what has happened thus far from their system.

They can tell you an RFE has been issued, but most of the times they will not tell you why and what for. You either will get and e-mail or a snail mail document.

The NVC operators are the best source of status in terms of NVC, I know they are not the best, but it's 1000 times better than the AVR.

Several past cases I have read people have gone thru NVC without the AVR updating at all...it kept on saying "No record of your case is found".

Call the Operators!

I agree with Dave & Kinnari. Few weeks ago I had gone thru the same thing. AVR was stating that they have sent an email out on July 11th about RFE on incomplete information on I-864 for my co-sponsor but I didn't get an email from NVC until July 19th. So I called up NVC and spoke to an operator which by the way was really helpful and he told me exact correction which needed to be made to complete my case. So I corrected every single mistake and sent in the corrected documents along with bar code sheet on July 13th & they received it on July 14th. They completed my case on July 28th.

Yeah same deal here.. I got an operator on the phone told them all I want is to verify that they *received* the documents.. I can look at the USPS tracking and see that they were delivered but with the types of documents sent it would be nice to know that the NVC actually has them in their possession.. .The information I was given was that the operators really can't see that information until the information is reviewed... As the operator put it "I see no record of them but that does not mean we don't have them. Nothing will show up in the system until the documents are reviewed. It can take up to 20 days"

At this point I am just relaxing and building the proof of relationship into a presentable document and collecting duplicates of some of the "originals" (birth certificates, marriage licenses, etc) in case they are somehow lost after arriving in Bogota...

Just one more milestone (NVC complete) before getting an interview date.. Feels good!

I guess nothing can happen on the weekend. But hoping for good news for everyone next week. It seems like they are working on cases received in about the time frame most of us are at. ...more waiting.

Just looking at NVC timelines. It looks like the backlog started right after the July 4th weekend. Cases were moving at a decent pace before then.

I really think CSC went into overdrive and it really hindered processing at NVC.

It would have be nice to be at VSC and approved at the same speed CSC was. Some timelines I saw for VSC were interesting as they got their NOA2 on a Wednesday and on Friday they would have a Case and IIN!

Your first packet is DS-230 might have been received by NVC on 7/26 (AOS on 8/2). I really hope that your AVR message changes, as your IV packet might have been reviewed by now - I am right behind you with 8/1 and 8/3 receipt dates and hence appreciate your updates very much.
