That's just silly. They should be able to assume that one, or prepopulate it on the form.

I asked the rep, "can I pelase speak witha supervisor" and she said "no way." grrrrrrr.... :angry:

Fedexed extra signed copy of ds-230 - should arrive Tuesday AM. "20 days...." give me a break. At this point I can see why people mailing checkist responses wnt to be in a different mail queue. One stinking little stupid field.

The AVR NEVER updated right away with any of the steps on our case. It always updated overnight. So I wouldnt say that it updates automatically the instant it's done. That's not true.

Really does seem that there should be a quicker method..

Well I just called NVC... I figured with NavyK finishing and my AOS papers being put into the system the day before his that I should be seeing some sort of action.. I just called and they CAN'T SEEM TO FIND MY AOS PAPERS!! They can see they *had* them entered into the system last week but now it is not even in the queue and has not been reviewed. The operator said she put in a special request (she immediately said "ooooh... something is not right here" I'm not sure what that means - they send people to fish through the garbage cans?) and if they don't turn up in 15 days I can send them a new set...

My guess is it is on someone's desk that took today off and it will probably magically show up and be reviewed later today..

Every time there is a wait period I get the sinking feeling that if I don't call and cajole them that nothing will ever be done with my case.. from AOS fees that sat "IN PROCESS" for a week to the 30+ days to "mail" the papers to the NVC.. every little step that requires a waiting period drives me nuts that something weird is going to happen... There only two waiting periods left before the interview date is selected for me (AOS accepted with case closed and then setting the interview date).. I still half expect there to be some 2 or 3 week delay for some as of yet never-before-seen-by-VJ reason...

*sigh* OK back to work...

Congrats NavyK.... I am hoping to get SIF today or tomorrow as AOS has been processed and DS230 is pending.... Hopefully you will get Sep interview.... Keep us posted..

Praise the Lord for He is good and His mercies endures for ever. I could just talk to an Operator who confirmed that my case is complete. When asked for next step, she said that August interviews are not possible and that NVC is working with Chennai Consulate to schedule a September interview and will communicate by this week-end.

Aww!! That's silly! It's not even your fault. I really hope they find your paperwork soon so you can get your interview soon! Dumb NVC :bonk:

Really does seem that there should be a quicker method..

Well I just called NVC... I figured with NavyK finishing and my AOS papers being put into the system the day before his that I should be seeing some sort of action.. I just called and they CAN'T SEEM TO FIND MY AOS PAPERS!! They can see they *had* them entered into the system last week but now it is not even in the queue and has not been reviewed. The operator said she put in a special request (she immediately said "ooooh... something is not right here" I'm not sure what that means - they send people to fish through the garbage cans?) and if they don't turn up in 15 days I can send them a new set...

My guess is it is on someone's desk that took today off and it will probably magically show up and be reviewed later today..

Every time there is a wait period I get the sinking feeling that if I don't call and cajole them that nothing will ever be done with my case.. from AOS fees that sat "IN PROCESS" for a week to the 30+ days to "mail" the papers to the NVC.. every little step that requires a waiting period drives me nuts that something weird is going to happen... There only two waiting periods left before the interview date is selected for me (AOS accepted with case closed and then setting the interview date).. I still half expect there to be some 2 or 3 week delay for some as of yet never-before-seen-by-VJ reason...

*sigh* OK back to work...

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

Aww!! That's silly! It's not even your fault. I really hope they find your paperwork soon so you can get your interview soon! Dumb NVC :bonk:

It would be so nice to ignore everything for a couple of weeks secure in knowledge that a date was forthcoming and nothing I could do would speed the process up further.. But already tonight I had a supervisor on the phone and it took several minutes for me to get them to understand that they have had the AOS papers for nearly two weeks now.. the AVR says they entered them into the system last week.. but they don't seem to know what the system is telling them other than it is something unexpected...

Anyway I am done posting my bad news - I'm sure everyone is tired of reading my bad news :) Good luck to everyone on the rest of the process.
