I think the busier consulates are better staffed. Mine doesn't have an overload of IVs and my appointment is the end of Septebmer already. But busier places like Manila and Mumbai seem to have slots earlier in the month.

The average wait time from NVC complete to interview date is around 50 days for all the embassies in India. They are all pretty busy year round.

The AVR NEVER updated right away with any of the steps on our case. It always updated overnight. So I wouldnt say that it updates automatically the instant it's done. That's not true.

Look in the Timelines and set it for your consulate. It will give you a fair idea about when the appointments are being made.

I looked at a ton of the past timelines on VJ for India and came with the average of about 50-55 days. I then compared them with the current timelines in various threads and it's pretty consistent with my estimate.

Yes, I did check both AVR and also call an Operator. And in my latest status check on Friday, the AVR gave me latest update than the Operator (Operator said that they can't see if the packet is being processed until it is entered into the system but the AVR could be updated by the one who is processing). Of course now the payment web site gave the latest update of SIF (haven't yet called an operator) - I am waiting to call an operator but am stuck in a meeting.

Congrats!! Wow only one more (hopefully super short!) wait to get the interview date. . :yes:

That's just silly. They should be able to assume that one, or prepopulate it on the form.

Sorry to hear that. One thing I noticed is after a real RFE, NVC is getting to the response to RFE pretty quickly, which is good - I really hate to hear the 20 days.....in such situations.
