9:37am EST: FedEx delivered fresh AOS w/employment letter

10am PST/ 3:00pm EST: AVR is telling me about yesterday's RFE (still no email about it).

human phone rep: "please allow 20 days" me: "bwaaahahahah! no way!!"

I got him to be human, and he ended up telling me:

"we are reviewing packages received yesterday and today, but I cannot tell you which packages"

me: "YAY! that would be the ds-230 and my response-to-checklist!"

Believe you me: I made it VERY clear ALL over the barcode coversheet and the envelopes that this was a response-to-checklist. HUGE RED LETTERS hahahah... ohhhh I hope I am right and they resolve that AOS!

Can we just have a huge group cheers! I am SO excited to see progress for us ALL - it's a beautiful thing that you are all working so hard for your spouses! cheers! (F)

The AVR NEVER updated right away with any of the steps on our case. It always updated overnight. So I wouldnt say that it updates automatically the instant it's done. That's not true.

Hi Everyone! We are also waiting for our case completion at the NVC. I-864 should be delivered to the NVC today. It is in Portsmouth as of 10:32 am. DS-230 was delivered on August 8th. AVR still says that a packet was generated on July 13th and will be delivered within a few weeks. hahaha Looks like I am about a week behind some of you in my delivery times. It has been such an agonizing wait. I was ready to send in my I-864 a month ago and was hoping for a September interview but it took my joint sponsor 5 months to finally send me her I-864 and even then she forgot to sign it which added another week. Oh well! Still hoping that somehow we can be together for our first anniversary. Wishing you all the best and hoping our cases are completed soon!

Anybody know about this? I was just reading over the guidelines for the embassy in paris and it said that all translations have to be notarized. Is this for real? I thought it was enough to have an oath...

Yes, it is closed - I just called. So I tried AVR and my message changed to "NVC has received the checklist information on 8/11/11. Please allow.....". Looks like NVC started reviewing my AOS - am so glad - Will have to call an operator on Monday to check. The Lord willing September Interview is possible.

and.. they are no longer "closed" :) I just called.. I had a rude one today, sounded like she had a sore throat and was not in a mood to talk about why they were down for a couple of hours.. Weird thing she told me they had not received my AOS packet yet... changed her story when I mentioned that the AVR said they started processing it on Wednesday.. Anyway no change but they are taking calls again.. call away!

Happy to hear that your message changed!! Mine hasn't but I'm not expecting that until early next week Spoke to a live person just a bit ago and got the 20 day song and dance. Unfortunately my AOS won't be delivered until Monday now since they were closed earlier today. Oh the agony!! It could have been there by Noon!! hahaha Now I'll have a false RFE for the AOS to wait for and I'm hoping it's the only RFE.

I just called and got a nice guy. He told me that operators will not know of the receipt of AOS packet, even if the AVR message states that it is received, till the packet is processed and entered into the system.

By the way there was curve ball thrown in one of thread regarding typing and printing name - meaning we are supposed print our name in I-864 with pen. in Item 30 of page 7. I just typed the full name and didn't write it with black ink by hand. One of them said that he/ she got a RFE. Any thoughts from those that got their AOS approved.

I just called and got a nice guy. He told me that operators will not know of the receipt of AOS packet, even if the AVR message states that it is received, till the packet is processed and entered into the system.

By the way there was curve ball thrown in one of thread regarding typing and printing name - meaning we are supposed print our name in I-864 with pen. in Item 30 of page 7. I just typed the full name and didn't write it with black ink by hand. One of them said that he/ she got a RFE. Any thoughts from those that got their AOS approved.

I would beleive that except it was the operator that told me about the AOS originally before the AVR updated the next morning.. Always seems to be a different story :blush: I am still holding out hope for today..

As far as the 864 and the request for the printed name portion.. I just looked at my scanned copy - I wrote it with a blue pen (there was a segment on NPR that government agencies are considering no longer allowing black ink for signatures and about a month ago someone here received an RFE because of a signature in black ink) Doubt it makes much difference though typing it instead of printing might...
