Waiting for Case Completion at NVC

Hi all of you who are waiting for your cases to be completed at NVC, I am opening this new thread, so that we can share information coommon to us.

NVC received my IV packet on 8/1 and AOS packet on 8/3. And I checked the automated message and it still says "NVC has mailed a packet on 7/28 to you.........". I am sure you are also checking the automated message. Please share here when your message changes/ changed indicating receipt or process of the packets by NVC, as we are all at different levels of processing at NVC.

I got the same AVR message today. I can't imagine that I missed something. Just have to wait for the snail mail.

FALSE RFE message from the AVR???

Yesterday I got the AVR message saying I was sent a letter for missing documents. So I spent the day and night in a funk over what I missed.

I called the AVR again this morning and got a message saying "we received the response to our checklist." This is confusing because I hadn't even received the letter yet.

So I called the operator who was pretty tight lipped. She said the AVR message may have been the "checklist" requesting me to send in the DS230 after they accepted my fee payment. I told her the DS230 was delivered to NVC on 7/27. So she said to wait 20 days for them to review.

My best guess is that the AVR is out of sync. I'm hoping this was a false RFE message and they are just waiting to review the 230.

Yuwa - have you called the AVR again and has your message changed?

The interfaces with the NVC are like traffic crosswalks with one button. We all walk up and hit that button. Some hit it once and wait & wait. Others stand there and keep on pushing the button until something happens. Others look at the button and just cross when they want.

It's an interesting perspecticve to cross one part, look back, and see others just standing there, staring at that interface... no feedback, and when something DOES happen (ex: AVR) it is dismissed as erroneous or irrelevant.

We currently have AVR message of "packet of documents was generated Aug 2 and will be delivered during next 4-6 weeks". Ok! i GUESS we are waiting for something to indicate receipt of AOS & IV... even if it is just a false RFE.

Hi all, yesterday I got a letter in regular mail date 7/28 stating that my Case number has been changed - this matches the AVR message. I guess the AVR hasn't yet beem updated with lated information. Since my IV was received by them on 8/1, I guess AVR is 3 days behind.

I think others got the false RFE, as the system hasn't yet taken note of the second set of documents. Thanks for sharing - at least we get some idea over the course of next few days. Keep updating.

I (and my wife) just got an email from NVC called the "Checklist Letter Response" saying to send in the IV. It has the barcode cover sheet and nothing more.

I already sent in the IV with a barcode cover sheet that I generated using the VJ instructions.

I think the NVC tracking systems are just way out of sync and I'm not going to send in a second copy of the IV. I haven't read about anyway to confirm receipt of the IV other than the SIF or the interview appointment email. Maybe I'll call again Monday and hope for a sympathetic operator.

We will all get a false RFE even if we send both AOS and IV packets together, if those two are not processed together. Afeter the first of the packets is reviewed/ processed, it generates a false RFE. since I send my IV first (due to issue with AOS payment status), I will get a false RFE to send the AOS.

We only got AVR to check and it is going to be always behind the current status, so the sharings help each other. Thanks for sharing.

Now the AVR message makes more sense. It says "we have received the checklist letter response, please wait 6-8 weeks..."

Even though I got the AVR message prior to the checklist letter email, I'm hoping this is confirmation of receipt of the IV packet.

I will be interested what messages others get. Things seem to be moving fast now!

During today's phone call to NVC the lady was adamant that the status won't change until they process the applications. I was tempted to explain that a false RFE is good news b/c it means that they are working on something.

I twas 5:30aM so I didn't have the energy to get her to leave the collective consciousness of the NVC-Borg and actually think through the process as it really works. The phone reps learn quite a bit from VJ members.

Have any of the rest of you heard, "How do you know that?" or "Oh THAT would explain why [fill in the blank] has been happening a lot this week." or "Oh that makes sense!" LOL

I have read a ton of past NVC guides and threads on VJ and several other immigration sites .DO NOT I REPEAT, DO NOT RELY ON THE AVR!

If you want a better more reliable answer, call NVC and inquire about the status of your case. These guys can tell you what has happened thus far from their system.

They can tell you an RFE has been issued, but most of the times they will not tell you why and what for. You either will get and e-mail or a snail mail document.

The NVC operators are the best source of status in terms of NVC, I know they are not the best, but it's 1000 times better than the AVR.

Several past cases I have read people have gone thru NVC without the AVR updating at all...it kept on saying "No record of your case is found".

Call the Operators!

The operators have access to this checklist. But, it's explicitly told not to be given over the phone from higher ups/supervisors.

Again, another past thread that I read where a VJ member was close to getting the list when a supervisor stepped in and told the operator, no we can not give that out.

NVC received my case on July 18th and I still haven't received any invoices I sent the ds-3032 email on July 30th it makes me so mad how slow the NVC is!!!!!
