im here to ask some help, suggestions, advice..... about a year ago my ex husband filed petition for me and brought me to USA. Stuff happens between us did not work and i got deported due to i ordered volutary deportation, its a long story to tell but id like to keep things in private. Now, im back here in philippines, im filled with pain and frustration, i made mistakes, and i do accepted it all, i regret it, and i might regret things for the rest of my life...but at the same time...i might be happy i did all of it, for some reasons...i was not happy at all living there in USA.

Now my problems is that i needed some papers, i dont know and i dont understand what is going on with our divorce. His daughter told me, there was little problem because my ex husband did not able to care of, i dont know what could it be.Id like to ask help from anyone out there, about my divorce, how to get copy of it, and what do i need to do to get it.Please somebody, help me, and tell me what to do. I dont think my ex husband is willing to give me and help me get some copy of our divorce, or...i dont know what happened to our divorce at all...he never spoke or contact me anymore....

can anyone please help me..............please.........im asking with all my heart......i hope somebody could give me directions and share thoughts regarding to my problem.

This is only a thought but you could try to write or e-mail to the family court in the state, city or town and district that you lived in. If you supply your ex's and your names and the date or year the divorce was filed or granted they may have records and be able to send you a copy. If you don't know where to start you could Google the "family court in the state and city" you lived in and they may list the addresses of the courts. Or try searching on Google for a large "family lawyer" in the town or city you lived in. Many of the larger divorce lawyer websites give advice and tell people where the divorce papers are actually filed. You don't have to hire the lawyer, just look at the sites and see what court the papers are usually filed in. So you could try that as a way to find out what court your ex may have filed the divorce in. You said the daughter mentioned some "trouble" so you do not know if the divorce was actually filed or went through. It must be hard to deal with but once you start to solve the problem you will feel better. Good luck

The state you lived in should have a web site . "Department of vital records". Usually you can request a copy of the divorce by filling out a form and summitting it with a small fee. I'm sure some allow you to summit it online, others you may have to mail it in. A divorce can be filed in any county within the state you lived in.

Are you still in contact with your EX's daughter? she may be your best bet. It all depends on her age of course.

Good Luck !

In the USA unless the divorce is contested it ususally goes thru without the couple even having to be in the courtroom. The judge receives the paperwork for the divorce and unless he sees issues with it he will usually just sign it and put it in the court files. BOTH parties should have received a copy of the final judgment or decree after it was signed and filed in the courts. They should have sent you a copy.

Contact the city you lived in and see where the divorce took place then request a copy of the document certified of course. You may have to do post mail in order to pay the fee for the copy and have it mailed to you but it would be worth it to have that document.

Or like the other poster said...if your in touch with the ex daughter and she is old enough she may be able to go for you with a letter from you perhaps and get the copy for you to mail to you. (Not sure they would release this to her but it wouldnt hurt to call the courthouse where the divorce took place and ask the clerk how to go about getting this whether they would accept a notarized letter from you allowing her to obtain the records etc)

Im really sorry about this but I pray you will be happier where you are now!!! Best of luck...

Depending on what state you are in, almost every state court has an online search function - where you can search by name and locate the docket number for your case. The court site should also give you the procedures for how to write and get a certified copy of the divorce decree - is there anyone in the states that can help you, or can the daughter help, it sounds like you are still in contact? There are also document retrieval companies that you could hire to go to the court house and get a certified copy to send you -

The Dept of Vital records in each state would keep records of marriage / birth, etc... - 99% of them are not going to keep the divorce record, you have to get a certified copy of the decree from the court.
