Brazilian mother-in-law to visit

Bom dia a todos. As the topic implies my mother-in-law is visiting in a few weeks. She and I get along quite well on the phone, but we are meeting in person for the first time in September. I've always gotten along famously with friends / girlfriends parents etc, but I know that some of what I see as being "polite" maybe will seem rude to someone from another country. My wife says I shouldn't worry and that her mother is really easy to get along with etc. I just wanted to throw it out there. Are there any feux pas I should avoid? Is there anything that I should try to do to make things perfect for her? Thanks!

One thing that you may want to make sure you have is that your trash can in the bathroom has a lid. If your wife's mother's from a part of Brazil with bad plumbing, the standard care with TP may be the trash can, not the toilet. Your wife should know if this is an issue.
