Howdy,

I just got a strange RFE. Which seems to be the norm as of late. CSC touched our case and sent the RFE email. I just recieved the "RFE" yellow envolope, but the only thing in it is my Original Birth Certificate that I sent to them when filling our case. There is no letter stating what evidence they want. Just my returned Birth Cert. So should I copy my passport, copy my Birth Certificate and send those back in as RFE evidence? Very confusing.

Thanks!

I appreciate the help!

I am not sure if your birth certificate was issued by the hospital or the state you were born in. If it was issued by the hospital, the birth certificate is unacceptable. If it was issued by the state, it should have a file number and raised seal. If you need a state issued birth certificate, go to www.vitalcheck.com. This may have been the problem.

Maybe they are being nice and returning your original document, having kept a copy for themselves?

I just checked my copy of our original submision. Included in it I had a copy front and back of my original hospital birth certificate which is falling apart its so old. I also included an original copy from vitalcheck.com State issued brand new with the seal. The only thing I didnt include was an entire copy of my passport.

Is it really strange that they didnt include a letter of some sorts indicating what they wanted returned?

Also, I submitted an amendment to our case several weeks ago with the new IMBRA complient I-29F form. I never recieved that back or anything reguarding it. Do you think they amended our case with it? As they have not sent an RFE for that yet.

Anyhow, Im currently making copies of everything again. Original BC, State BC, and Passport. Lets hope its not information overload for them and they approve us quickly!

Thanks for the help.

That is strange, confusing, and good. It appears USCIS simply wanted to return your original. Those dirty rotten scoundrals kept mine. Can't win them all I guess. LOL! Cheers!!! - Sheriff Uling

If you also submitted the new I-129F form, then your not likely to get a IMBRA RFE. They're not going to notify you that they received the new form either. I did the same thing as you did by sending in a amendment form about five weeks ago and they just approved us this week. So I assume they accepted it and it was sufficient.

Awesome! I appreciate your response to that PeterZ, I know its been kinda hit and miss with sending ammendments. Im really curious as to what this RFE is all about. Guess I will have to wait till Monday to call them. They were closed when I tried today.

Hey William33, Im confused you said we are already approved? This is the first action weve seen on our case in 3 months. Sadly far from approved! Im just curious what makes you say we are already approved (I wish!)

Thanks for your help guys/gals.

Could it be the returned birth certificate is unrelated to the RFE.

Perhaps coincidence?? Maybe the RFE is still in the mail or maybe the officer hit a wrong button on the computer and you got the wrong email message.

I would call Monday morning. Good luck :)

Well.. I would definitely call them..

but I think.. They may just be returning your BirthCertificate.. as it was stated that you should send a "COPY" of your birth certificate with your application. They realized that you sent your original and they are returning that to you.

That would be MY guess. but I would call them anyway and if that is the case.. I'd say Thank you !! hehe

good luck :luv:

The asbsence of an RFE letter seems to indicate that. When my original document was returned, there was nothing with it.

I guess we'll wait til Monday to know! :)

Because when I originally responded to this message, your signature timeline indicated "NOA-2" as opposed to "touch 2" as it reads now.
