Guys and Gals,

I need to email the NVC to upgrade my status from LPR to Citizen for my wife's case. What is the file format (pdf/doc/jpeg) that I scan my document (naturalization certificate) and attach with the email that I need to send? Is there any prescribed format on the NVC website?

For any communication with NVC, there is a standard template (Which is in the previous mail). Send an email with that format (subject line must have NVC case #, the first few lines must contain certain information Case #, Beneficiary/Petitioner name and dob and what not) and attach a copy of your (scanned) naturalization certificate. That should siffice. However I would recommend you to call NVC first and ask them about the standard practice. I would prefer email as it's faster so get the confirmation from the horses mouth.

Congrats on the Naturalization thing :-)

I had my oath about 2 months after I took my test...It's actually very rare for it to happen on the same day as I understand it.

Texas do conduct oath on the same day if nothing is pending such as name change e.t.c. However, I actually was a bit unlucky on getting my oath the same day. I was 10 minutes past when my interview ended for the time of the oath for that day. The center where I gave my interview, conducts their oath every day at 11:00 am. So, whoever finishes off with their interview before 11, are the lukcy ones since the others are sent back to the system to get scheduled and that takes who knows how many weeks/months. This rule actually sucks! My case status still shows 'Testing and Interview' although I was given a notice I passed. Not sure why is that!!
