We were approved on July 20 and we picked the visa up at china post on July 26. We had been checking at the counter everyday and it wasn't ready on July 25. I bought one way tickets from Korean Air on July 26 to depart on July 29 to Las Vegas for $1284 a piece. Those were the cheapest available, but they turned out to be pretty good. We had an 8 hour layover in Seoul and are POE was Las Vegas. Seoul is the best looking airport that I've ever seen and our plane was the only one passing through immigration and customs so everything was easy.

Good for you!! Your interview took 159 days from your I-129F NOA1 date, which was how long it took for me from NOA1 to NOA2

Your fiancee interviewed one day after mine, and you got your visa one day after mine. You're way ahead of me for POE!!

If we decide to wait in GUZ to pick up the visa (if we get approved), where do we pick up the visa? Who/when do we tell we are going to wait in GUZ and pick up?

There is a little counter with a China Post lady working it on the fifth floor. When your visa is approved, you can take your pink slip there and fill out an EMS slip. The lady will help you out and you pay the postage to her. It's 20 RMB to have it sent to the China Post in Guangzhou. The actual post office where you go to get the visa package is a good distance away from the consulate and on lesser traveled road. They keep the visa packages on a little wheeled cart. You can go to the counter and ask if yours is there. There wasn't ever very many other people around when we went. They have a list of names and GUZ numbers of the visa packages that have arrived, so you can look and see if your fiance is on it. The list is printed from some dot matrix printer somewhere. There is a map with the consulate, the CITIC bank, and the China Post office on it. I've seen it around the forums a lot. It's also probably on the GUZ website.

If we decide to wait in GUZ to pick up the visa (if we get approved), where do we pick up the visa? Who/when do we tell we are going to wait in GUZ and pick up?

Hi all,

We received our P4 in the mail yesterday and it says "interview date" Aug 24th, 12:30pm. However, it doesnt say anything about a "document turn in/finger print day". Where do I get this?

To prevent further confusion, please have your fiancee take everything she has: her filled out P4 forms etc, and go to the consulate on August 24th before 12:30pm. Have her stand in the left line (immigrant line) and follow the others through the process. She will go through security, etc, wait in line, get a number, get called, turn in her P4, I-134 and supporting documents. Then take her seat, wait to be called for finger prints.

The next day (August 25th), she needs to return to the consulate before 7:30am, stand in line, go through security, take a seat, wait for her number to be called, and get interviewed

My fiancee told me she had a piece of paper telling her to go back the next day at 7:30am for her interview.

This is how Guangzhou consulate does it. It's not the same as the other embassy or consulates

So please prepare your fiancee to spend some time in Guangzhou. Enough time for medical, time for the consulate, and time to wait for her visa after her interview.
