Hi all,

So planning a head a bit here but my future father-in-law has been asking me what evidence he will be required to submit in order to co-sponsor our K1 visa application. So in order to answer his question to the best of my ability I've had a poke around the forums here I came across Nich-Nick's post from a couple of years ago, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/177012-people-between-noa2-and-interview-2009/page__st__315__p__2720065#entry2720065 , which has been very helpful so far (good job Nich-Nick).

So, from this post we have come up with the following list of items

  • Original Signed copy of the I-134 form (from both sponsor and cosponsor)
  • Scanned copies W2s from 2008, 2009, 2010 for me to print
  • Scanned copies of around 3 recent pay stubs for me to print
  • Scanned copies of passport to prove U.S citizenship

So my questions are as follows:

  • Are W2s on there own, i.e. without the remaining forms associated with a tax return, sufficient as a source of evidence (ability to support will be based entirely on salaried income and not on assets or other means)?
  • Does this list seem sufficient in terms of quantity and quality of evidence?
  • Are scanned copies of the W2s and pay stubs enough or will I also require the originals for the purpose of the interview?

Thanks in advance for any help.

A complete tax return = [All forms and schedules filed with IRS] + [W2].

That's what they mean if instructions say submit a "complete tax return" like for AOS. For the I-134 a tax return is not required by London. I suppose a W2 alone would show income, much like pay stubs do.

If you would order tax transcripts free from the IRS,then that takes the place of tax forms and W2s. A transcript stands alone as great proof.

I think your list looks good. Photocopies should be fine.
