Feb 7, 2012: Passport requested by Consulate
(...Husband needed passport for personal reasons during this time...)

Apr 25, 2012: Visa issued
May 1, 2012: Visa in hand
May 31, 2012: POE at Montreal's Trudeau Airport
Early July: Physical Green Card received in mail. Yes, it's green!

March 13, 2014: ROC filed (went to VSC)

March 17, 2014: NOA

April 22, 2014: Biometrics appointment

December 9, 2014: Case inquiry initiated

December 11, 2014: Response: "The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required security checks remain pending."

March 14, 2014: Received NOA that approval had been given on March 10; expect new GC within 60 days.

was approved july 31st....really hope i dont have to be waiting as long as you all have appeared to be!! :( can't you send your information in if you have already done it---forms, tax returns, etc etc? or do you have to receive a packet from the visa center prior to sending the visa center all the forms and such? if you can get the OF-169 and OF-230 online i dont see why you have to wait for a packet of information......:S

You have to pay the fee's before you can send off your paper work.

After you pay your fees you are sent a unique barcode for your case. You attach said barcode to your paper work and then send it to NVC.

I'm a July-approved person, but I feel for you June folks.

Just for fun, I called three times today to see what my status supposedly is:

This morning, I spoke with a young man who told my receipt date is August 1, and he did not try to give me a BS time frame. He did try to say this is their "busy season."

This afternoon, I spoke with a curt woman who would not give me a receipt date but told me it would take 2-4 weeks to process. "2-4 weeks from when?" I asked. She could not say. Least helpful interaction with an operator yet.

Later this afternoon, I spoke with a woman who said again my receipt date is August 1 but told me to wait 2 weeks.

My point in this futile exercise? These operators don't have any more clue as to what is occurring than we do.

In the dark, out of the loop, our lives wait to be processed.

My case was received on AUG 1st also. Let's hope we get the case # assigned soon...

Called today and got the standard 2-4 weeks answer :bonk:

operators keep saying tht we received your file on Aug 1st. so i hope we all get our case number on monday.

He is highly frustated and the reasons are valid and hence that message - one needs to vent out ones frustation to feel a little free. He will overcome his frustation soon - it looks like NVC is trying to tighten their belt and hopefully he will get his Case number/ IIN/ AOS fee... soon.
