Dropped off the Divorce Decree today and had fingerprints done as they forgot to do them at the time of the interview. Thank GOD for VJ, we knew to ask about it!! POE should be some time next week as long as we don't run into any further delays. We aren't letting ourselves be excited quite yet. Won't believe it's really happening until he's in the air and on his way!! But still, WOOT, almost done! :D

Hey August filers been a long time since checking in none the less getting married on June 15th. Fiance already has his ID card SSN card in route and studying for his DL now. Started filing out all my AOS paperwork in advance so when we have the marriage certificate we can just send it off. Looking over all that AOS stuff has me cross eyed.

Still waiting... <sigh>

There was an issue with my underlying medical condition and I had to have the TB sputum test done to rule out TB. 8 loooooong weeks for results! Blah.

Even though I interviewed in April, I just got the medical approval this week. I sent the medicals and the passports (for my 2 kids and me) to the consulate yesterday. Now I just need to wait for them to print the visas and send them back. I'm really hoping to be able to POE in mid September... 13 months after starting this journey.

I'm glad to hear that you are all getting settled in!

The K-1 Visa journey for myself and my two K-2 children:

K-1: NOA1 2011-8-10; NOA2 2012-1-12; Interview 2012-4-24; Visa issued 2012-9-17; POE (Sarnia) 2012-9-26; Wedding! 2012-10-02
AOS: NOA1 2012-11-20; Biometrics 2012-12-14; AP/EAD approved 2013-1-11; Interview 2013-1-31; 2-yr Green cards in hand 2013-2-9 (101 days total)

ROC: NOA1 11-7-14; Biometrics 12-1-14; 10-yr Green cards ordered 4-13-15! (157 days total)

Counting down to naturalization time!

Hi everybody! It's been awhile since I have posted. Ahmed and I are doing good and submitted the paperwork for AOS, EAD and AP today, so the wait begins again. This time though it will be much more enjoyable, as Ahmed won't be thousands of miles away.

WE have had some issues with Ahmed getting a SSN # and finally made an info pass appointment for last Friday, as Social Security was saying that the Homeland Security never received the original application from June 8. Well it turns out that Ahmed is not in the system yet according to the immigration officer. It has been 2 months and 6 days since he came in to JFK, so really he should be in the system. The officer said, we can't open a case until 6 months have passed. She asked Ahmed if he handed in the package at his POE and he had. She then went on to ask if we were intending to submit for AOS, as then a case will be open for his not being in the system. He has the I-94 in his passport, so the officer knows he is here legally. It has been so frustrating (really more than that, but trying to stay calm) to hear that his paperwork might be lost. Good thing the doctor in Tunisia gave Ahmed copies of his documents from the medical exam, and we submitted that with his AOS, as advised by the immigration officer.

I'm so sorry to hear you guys have been having so many issues! :(

@Kimberly - I completely agree with you- it's way more enjoyable and less stressful to wait while they're HERE with you :) feels good to say haha. I'm sure we will get an RFE for the AOS but at least it's finally turned in.

Good luck CADreamer.... I wish you guys well, keep us updated on your progress! :) I promise to be more faithful to VJ from now on. lol

WOO HOO, Ahmed received his SSN card in the mail yesterday. We also were able to confirm that the AOS/EAD/AP package made it to the Chicaogo lockbox via the return receipt confirmation with USPS. Now we just need to actual confirmation from USCIS that they received it.
