Had my POE yesterday in Dublin, Ireland. Just to clear things up... Dublin, Ireland IS a POE. You clear US immigration there when flying directly from Ireland to the US. When you then land in America, you just collect your bags... done! :thumbs:

It took about 15 mins. The Immigration officer was a good laugh, asked me if I really wanted to do this, told me if he saw me in 5 years comin' back with screamin' kids he'd say: I did warn you!

The officer opened my Visa Packet (the do not open one) took me into a back room to stamp my passport etc. N.B.THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU BACK THE STUFF THAT'S IN THE ENVELOPE.

As I was walkin' away he yelled back at me: 'Practice saying, "I do!"' :lol:

Done.

Yay! I'm glad to hear it was so easy for you! Congrats on your safe arrival in the USA!

POE in Atlanta last week was a piece of cake and as soon as an officer saw my packet i was taken from the queue and to an empty booth. it took 15 minutes and i was done.

today we had a courthouse marriage and the guy performed it outside in the gardens which was absolutely wonderful <3

back soon to start AOS :)

So hey, I may be stupid on this, but how can we make sure he gets to work ASAP? I just recently started having some financial issues making it harder to be the only one working and providing in the relationship. I make enough to support him (as per that 125% poverty line) but not so much to pay all my bills + support another individual. I assume there isn't any possible way to expedite the work permit?

So hey, I may be stupid on this, but how can we make sure he gets to work ASAP? I'm no expert, but I have never heard of expediting the work permit/AP.

Get your marriage license ASAP.

Get married. (We had to wait 3 days after getting the license, dunno if that's only in FL, or everywhere. We're doing a big wedding in November, so the one we did last Tuesday was literally me, herself and the woman at the court house who signed and stamped the license.)

Once your marriage cert is back to you, get your other stuff together and send everything off.

I think the current waiting time is 6-8 weeks for AP + EAD.
