So I starting to look into the AOS phase for when my fiance gets up here and came across an interesting issue....

I never actually received a hard copy of my NOA2 in the mail from the USCIS but it was never an issue for getting the K-1 visa.

Anyway, looking into the AOS steps I see we need to include a copy of the NOA2 in our application. I called up the USCIS to ask for another copy (that they lost the first time!) and they said I would need to send in a I-824 Application for Duplicate Notice. Oh...and it costs $405!!

Just wondering if anyone else had this happen? There is no way I'm paying $400 for something that isn't my fault.

Maybe time to go to my congressman?

AOS From K-1 Visa (POE 4/6/12)

Day 1 (4/24/12): Sent I-131, I-765, I-485 via FedEx to Chigago

Day 3 (4/26/12): Delivered

Day 7 (4/30/12): 3 Texts/Emails Received with April 26th NOA1 Date

Day 8 (5/01/12): Check Cashed

Day 12(5/05/12): Biometrics Appt. Letter received (for 5/25/12)

Day 31(5/24/12): Successful Walk-in Biometrics

Day 73(7/04/12): Email notification of EAD/AP approval

Day 78(7/09/12): 2nd Email notification of EAD/AP approval

Day 79(7/10/12): Notification EAD/AP has been mailed and Notification EAD/AP Picked up by USPS

Day 81(7/12/12): EAD/AP card arrives!

Day 88(7/19/12): Interview for AOS: Approved!

Day 96(7/27/12): Green Card in Hand!!

you cant track it until the courier picks it up from the embassy and that is the day before it is delivered... thats how it is in the UK anyway.

So happy for all of you (and slightly jealous, I must admit). Congratulations!

Hopefully we'll have our interview date soon! Still never got the stupid immunization records so decided to just get the shots again if it comes to it. Sent the checklist in earlier this week. Thinking he'll be here in about 6 weeks, still feels like an eternity...It will feel so strange not to be in a perpetual state of waiting any longer!! :D

Ahmed was approved for his visa this morning. We are so happy and excited. He will go back on March 28th to pick up his passport with the visa in it!!!!
