we just found out that my fiance has mild TB... We havent done the medical or scheduled for interview yet... what should we do now? is our visa gonna get denied?

is our visa gonna be delayed? the doctor said with treatment she wont be contagious anymore in two weeks... will she have to stay in the philippines for the whole 6 months treatment? or can she continue here in the states? we are so lost... this is devastating news... please help us

exactly we have same situation....she need to wait 6 months to finish her treatment...and after that sputum need to wait 2 months more for the result, if negative she will request her date interview...in my part my treatment finish this coming aug 15. then there is another month possible to wait, because sputum is only in st. luke hospital so another 2 months i will wait before schedule for my interview.

I have read posts from here I have the same experienced. I should undergo sputum test for 3days and wait for another 2mos.for culture test. My questions are:

1.Does my Fiancee needs to call nvc to inform that I will undergo Sputum test?

2.What if I will be positive for TB, does petition has an expiration?

3. If I will be positive for TB and needs to undergo treatment can I have it in the accredited clinics of St.Lukes because I am from province and I have a work. I cant be absent for long.

Thanks very much for this sensible site. Thank you to the creator of this page. I hope for your response. Thanks everyone. I feel so down!

its not the cause for denial.. don't worry about that.. as soon as your have Manila case #...go get your medical done... as what expected she would be + on TB...so she will have to undergo treatment for 6 months,,,she needs to visit SLEC everyday for treatment,,(where she lives?) if she lives far, there is a cheap condo where she can stay for the whole treatment..or maybe she has relatives in manila...then after she get cleared she can proceed to her interview... i hope this will help your worries... i am sorry about that btw... thats sad.... :(

No, she will not have to stay in Manila the whole time.

1. No, your fiancé does not need to call the NVC. You just go to medical and they will diagnose it and you will be able to get treatment or they can recommend treatment at another hospital.

2. IF you are diagnosed with TB from SLEC then your petition does not expire it will simply be put on hold until your treatment is complete.

3. You can undergo treatment at any hospital or clinic you like where you live as long as you get treatment.
